i just recently asked to see the Beaubourg at the LV store.. saying it like an american would, "beau" (as in spouse) - "burg".. and the french SA didn't know what i was talking about.. and finally, he realized what it was and said, "boo-boor(g)".. would this be accurate? :shrugs:

Funny I stumbled upon how to pronounce LV in a right way. It so happened that I went to Neiman Marcus a week ago to check on LV Damier Ribera. So I asked the SA if they have the Damier (Da-meir) Ribera ( Ri-be-ra) in stock. And she repeated to me in a French sound way of how to pronounce it right Dameir Ribera. I felt embarrassed, but what the heck I still love the LV bags.

It's ER-MAY (that's how it sounds...). But the H is not pronounced simply because it's silent, not because of the accent on the E. Just like in the word HOTÊL (OH-TEL), or HAUTE (OAHT), the H is silent in these situations as well, only because it's a silent letter. Also, HERMÈS has a grave accent like this È not like this É.
I watched a show on a style channel about Hermes. It is DEFINETLY pronounced "er-Mes". A representative from Hermes is the one who taught the reporter how to pronounce it correctly.

yeah, no offence, but the "gra-fight" is really bad. :p

If you want to stay "loyal" to Vuitton and keep everything in the original language, French, you really need to say "Kraa - feet "

(If English people pronounce the G, it sounds very different from French people. So to get the right pronouncing of Gra, you'll have to say Kraa)

I'm so sry but I would like really want to know because I want to ask after the bag this week in the store. If I don't know how to say the word, I have a problem and the situation could be a bit embarrassing for me ..:blushing:
