there's an interview in French with Patrick Louis Vuitton on the official LV Site, "The World of Louis Vuitton" then go to Special Orders and then Patrick Louis Vuitton, he says "Louis Vuitton" in the first or second sentence, the very best source for pronouncing the brand name correctly

I'd also like to know how to pronounce Illovo. I haven't a clue.

Illovo is the name of a suburb in Johannesburg, South Africa . it's pronounced the way it's spelt.

also, i just thought of a new addition:

Jasmin: Zhus-mahn (zh- as in rouge; -us as in the word us; the n in mahn is suppressed)

i took some french in high school... but i still cannot speak the language if my life depended on it. i have french-canadian cousins who simply laugh at my attempt to speak any french at all. i could guess most of the pronunciations correctly, but i didn't know a couple of them. great guide, though!

Don't feel bad! When I bought my damier papillon I asked the SA if I could view the pah-pee-yon and she corrected me to pap-il-lon!

That SA is wrong, YOU are right! It's pronounced Pah-Pee-Yon (with a strong nasal sound on Yon) because I'm French and grew up in a French speaking community.

"bah-teengn-ol" is the closest phonetic spelling I can come up with! (I'm bilingual so the words are intuitive, but it's hard to type them out phonetically!)

this is all so helpful! thanks guys! this reminds me of when i girl i truly disliked kept on referring to a papillon 26 as a "pap-pill-on 26." and the damier line as "dam-meerrr."
