Hi Loewe fans!

My luxury purse peace lasted exactly two years after getting my Loewe mini calfskin Puzzle bag in tan. lol The Puzzle is literally my most worn bag and the calfskin leather is wearing beautifully.

SO, I decied to celebrate my 40th birthday a little early and just ordered the Loewe mini Hammock in light ghost from Fashionphile. I can't wait until it arrives in the mail so I can share more scrumptious photos and see what fits side!

Question: What does everyone carry in their mini Hammock? How has the leather worn over the years?

I'd love to see photos and read personal bag stories.

Hello everyone! I just got a small hammock preloved online and I'm a little concerned because the stitching seems kind of off...
Is it normal for the top stitches to be slightly thinner than the side stitches? Also there's some weird overlapping stitches too.

Does the leather feel or smell like other Loewe satin calfskin bags or leather bags in general?

Even if it's authentic, I would still send it back based on the strange stitching alone. Unfortunately, I think I'll receive my Hammock too late outside your return window (next week) to post comparison shots.

24s has some interesting close-ups of a small Hammock bag where one stitch does dip in more deeply at the corners so it looks thinner than the rest, but it only happens in a very small spot:

And on Loewe's website some Hammock stitching does vary in length at the corners:

Thanks so much for your reply! The leather does feel and look like my puzzle bag/other Loewe leather goods I've seen. From some photos on the websites I've checked out (Net-a-porter, Loewe, 24s), it looks like some bags have thinner top stitches than stitches on the side/inconsistent stitch sizes. Or maybe it's the lighting? I can't really tell

Anyways, it wouldn't hurt if I saw some pics of the hammock bag you receive next week. I'd so appreciate it!

There's definitely bound to be some variation between bags and artisans.

I'll definitely post high res imagines next week, but I'll also be using online authentication just for peace of mind.

@pheebspurse Your Hammock is stunning! The color is so rich and beautiful. Congratulations

Aww thank you, yeah she‘s a beauty!! For the longest time I thought I’d be content with my puzzle as my everyday bag, that is until I saw the hammock in-person in the color that speaks to me

Yes thanks for posting this, it's definitely helpful! I'm thinking I might just keep mine warts and all..

The colour you got is stunning how are you liking it as an everyday bag in comparison to the Puzzle?
Yeah honestly the color was what won me over, apart of how functional and aesthetically-pleasing the bag is. Every time I saw the Hammock online I always thought the bag is too bulky to be worn crossbody, open-top doesn't suit me etc etc. I once had the mini which don't really work for my lifestyle so I was surprised to learn the small size does give different user experience.

I love how the Hammock molds to the body like a sack when worn crossbody. The puzzle does this too, albeit occasionally would still bang onto my surroundings whenever I make an abrupt move. It also allows more capacity compared to my small puzzle (my office gets chilly so it's very convenient to just throw in my light cardigan vs squeezing it inside my puzzle which would be nearly impossible if I have other stuff with me) and I rarely need to take extra bag to lug around since the wide opening accommodates A4 documents/ soft clear folder, even my small lunch box quite well. The small puzzle hinders me from fitting all these extra stuff I would occasionally have and as a result, I always need to keep a folded tote inside my puzzle just in case.

The Hammock makes perfect transition from day to night as well, as I could just slip my wrist onto its top handle and have the bag folded in fortune-cookie configuration and it instantly looks put-together. I feel it's due to its front panel which is quite structured eventhough the sides fold beautifully, as opposed to my puzzle who's looking pretty 'tired' (lol) with all those organic slouch. I feel like the puzzle is now my go-to when I absolutely want to be secure (like at the airports) and don't wanna think about my bag, but the Hammock takes the cake for being a bag that I enjoy both for its functionality, aesthetic, and tactile feeling.

You're welcome! Haha that's how they got me too. I looooove my mini Puzzle in light caramel; it's my most-used bag.

Then, I went into the Vegas boutique and it was all over—the Hammock's form factor is so unique and cool. They only had the larger Hammocks in stock to try on that time, I think. I have a small frame so the larger Hammocks seemed like it could get heavy and luggage-y quick if I filled it to the brim, so I put it on the back burner until I saw a size and color combo I loved on the pre-loved market. Finally, the mini Hammock in light cream with tan/orange trim got me in the feels.

I totally agree with you—the Puzzle is so secure and excellent for travel. I also want to "fortune cookie" my Hammock when it finally arrives. It's so low-key, different and interesting! Honestly, I'm leaning into Loewe for the incredible materials and its luxe but low-key look. The iykyk vibe is real and makes me feel a little safer and more confident at festivals, concerts, while traveling, etc. My vintage Chanel Classic Flap has been relegated to only special dinners now.

You summed it up perfectly! The hammock is so pretty and unique I could just admire it all day. Just now someone at the elevator complimented my Hammock but my mind was onto checking my inbox, I didn't get to say more about how passionate I am about my bag, hahah! I'm quite sure that person isn't aware of the brand (it's not common in my industry to wear luxury brands) but that's what I love about Loewe. Their design and quality speak for itself, and not just bcs their this big, expensive brand (nothing wrong with that, it's just I fancy lowkey stuff that I get to enjoy myself without being too self-conscious about my surroundings)

Oh my God that is devastating news! I really hope it turns up, please keep me posted! Fingers and toes crossed for you!
Thank you so much!

Unfortunately, the investigation was concluded by UPS and the bag wasn't found.

Fashionphile has been so very helpful and said they'd issue a refund next week on the claim deadline, just in case the bag shows up by then.

I think I'll be looking for another Mini Hammock some time soon.

So Sorry you have to go thru this. I hate when I have trouble with delivery. Hope it gets resolved soon.
