Hi everyone,

I've been reading all that I can on stretching my CLs and was about to try the alcohol swab n stuff method to stretch the toe box, when I happened upon KlassicKouture's post (#513), on the "CL Shoe Care and Maintenance Guide FAQ" thread.

I know that using alcohol has worked out really well for some, but please check it out BEFORE you use alcohol to stretch your shoes. Good to know what could happen.

I feel so bad for her, as I'm sure you will too.
Thanks again KlassicKouture for sharing and letting us learn from your experience.

Hi ladies! I found this post and thought maybe my method will help some of you. What I usually do to stretch my shoes - I put a tea kettle with water on a stove, bring it to boil. Once started to boil, I turn the flame down and open the kettle's nose so steam can come out in a thin stream. Then I hold a shoe with a part I want to stretch over the hot steam and heat it thoroughly, at the same time stretching it with my hands. I heat and stretch in this manner all the parts of the shoe that bother me and then put it on my foot while still warm and let it cool on the feet. Works for me! just be careful with the steam, let the water boil slowly so you don't get burnt! Good luck!
Wouldn't the leather be very dry and start cracking after it cools down?

Hello ladies,

First off, thanks for the great thread! I just got my first pair of CLs and this has been super helpful!

I got the patent rolandos in a half size up (usually wear US 7 and got this in 37.5) but the toe box is still painfully right. I've read about the "sock tricking" method here to stretch out the toe box, but I can't even get my socked foot to go all the way in the shoe! Does this mean that I need to go up another half size? The thing is, I tried on the 37.5 nappa leather rolandos and they fit well, I guess it's been stretched out already from being tried on in-store so much, so would the 38 patent leather ones be too big?

Thanks!

To stretch my loubies, I wore really thick sports socks and wore my shoes around the house for an hour or so every day, until they were stretched to the right size. They fit like a dream now!

I heard this works too! Stretching your shoes out with ice.

Oh yeah I saw that on Michelle Phan, I don't think it works since when water freezes I think it gets smaller, so idk if it works, but there are a lot of science CL girls that would probably correct me, I am probably wrong. It might also make your shoes water-logged if not done correctly.

Pls ladies, i just bought a watersnake AD and the toe box is very tight.
What can i do? Would watersnake stretch?

Watersnake does stretch ... try padding the sides with either mole skin or lambs wool to ease pressure on your toes but wear them. The more you wear them the more they will mold to the shape of your foot. I wear my WS Bianca's every night at home to do just this.
