Thank you for your kind advice. I’m taking down notes.

I used to wear a round jade bangle too (looong time ago) but ever since past couple of years I’ve been wearing gold bangles in oval, I thought oval fits nicer on me. I probably won’t stack but let’s see (need to try out round and oval jade to see for myself).

As much as this seller is highly recommended, should I just be asking if the jade is untreated plus grade A? Is there anything else I should ask? Tq.

And I’m eyeing on something like this of her bangles. But not sure at this point if she can find a similar slab to customise an oval.

Personally, I don't mind a couple of natural internal lines but I would be wary of lines that could be felt with the nail. So I would also ask if there are any notable flaws.

Do you ladies prefer oval jade bangle? My wrist is rather flat so I am thinking of making one which is oval. I’m recommended a seller and she has shown me few jade slabs where I can choose one to cut and customise. But trying to make a date to meet up and try various sizings.

Personally my favorite is the oval. It rests against my wrist best vs say, a princess (which is a pity as I like its look best of all). My wrists are thin and flat so maybe that’s why oval works best for me. With a bit of effort, I can still rotate my close-fitting oval when worn. How lucky you are to have been given an option to choose from raw jade slabs and have a customized bangle made!

If you like pushing your bangle up temporarily to stay out of the way (like while typing), rounds are better than ovals in my experience. Might not be as big a difference, if you have softer forearms. I stack bangles, and find that the oval one has to be the smallest one and at the bottom of the stack (towards the hand, not the shoulder)

That’s interesting to know indeed. Thanks. @raptorgrin

I don’t have the habit of pushing up my bangles/bracelets as what I wear on my wrist are snug fit, including watches. I always have a soft cloth under my wrist when I work on my keyboard.

But when it comes to jade bangle (which are thicker), not sure how it would feel (don’t recall anymore how it felt when I wore one decades ago). So I might pretend to type away when trying lol.

And I just took the plunge to do a bespoke necklace with a jade seller (which I believe some of you have recommended in this forum. Thank you!). I want a small dainty everyday piece. Will be ready in 3 weeks. What a cute cabochon!

I met up with two jade sellers today.
And found out to my surprise this sings to me. I tried many (but my small wrist doesn’t have that many options but at least I tried various colors and splashes)and thought I would have preferred xx or yy, based on photos. However this least expected piece just pops best on me.

What do you think of this piece? I’ve gone thru the checks with her and it’s perfect, no cracks no heat treatment. Told sellers I want to think over first. I’ll see how I feel tomorrow haha.

Wanted to edit the above to add on a question but late to the post..

What would be the market rate for such colour and quality? Seller calls it forest green with translucency. In a nutshell.

How lovely indeed. Is it a round bangle? I like the half light and dark combination. I can see why it sings to you.

I've seen variations of prices between two bangles of similar quality. Might also depend on many factors - whether they cut their own jade, have a shopfront etc. Hard to pinpoint a price.

It’s oval. Here’s one in natural daylight.
Yes indeed I’m still trying to grasp the jade prices

tbh I’m pulling my brake on this one because of its price and especially i want to be really sure I’m gonna wear it with comfort (I have a few luxury brands 18k bracelets that Im so used to). I mean ok this one is no way near a Cartier bracelet$ but still, it’s a splurge to me for a jade bangle.
i just ordered another very affordable piece (from another trusty source. For now, I feel I fancy deeper color). If I really love the wear, I might just pick up that earlier one! Provided it’s still around then…

And today I woke up to find my hand some part sore from trying too many bangles lol.
