I think spring is a great name, it is very fresh green. Lila is also a great name. I think her color is very pretty and delicate - the name is fitting. Also a good choice on S'more!

I love how your collection is growing.
My partner buys a lot of things and I’m usually the one saving some $$. He commented last night how I already have one blue bangle and I’m selling Sachi. lol. I told him it’s kind of like him and his colognes, shoes, clothes, etc. I’m enjoying some of my hard work now! Soon it will be back to saving once I have the pieces I want (yes, there is kind of a planned end to the list at some point). hahah. Thanks for joining me on my collection expansion.

Happy Monday!

Does anyone feel like over time they can fit into smaller bangles than the first bangle(s) you bought? I discovered that UJ is the only site so far that accurately describes how to measure the breadth of your hand. Not from index to pinky finger. It should be from the end of the pinky knuckle (closest to your ring finger) to about the end of your index finger knuckle.

Yes, but I'm not sure how much is my arthritis being less active now. At first I thought it was because my hand got more practice with squishing down from doing it more frequently, but I will go months without changes now, and I still can change bangles more easily than before.
If my skin is really dry, I have to use hand cream or hair conditioner, though.

I thought nephrite is tougher, because it is more fibrous/felty interlocked? Even though jadeite is harder.
I don't worry about cracking my bangles so much as I worry for them being scratched. To me, texture is the most important aspect of a bangle. If I run my fingers over it, I don't want to feel any inconsistencies. It's why I love Ivy and Legolas. They feel as smooth as glass. Same with nephrite. Indeed, nephrite is tougher, but easier to scratch.

@Alex B how long have you been collecting jade? Just wondering how you amassed your bangle selection. Do you have rings or pendants too? Sorry if you’ve shown them before, I often forget. Were you the one with the large carved handheld pendants and the purple palm stone? Or maybe that was moneymeister.

Happy Friday everyone!
I started about a year ago. I wear a lot of creams, browns, and greens in my wardrobe. So for a long time, I thought about collecting jewelry with a green stone. I considered Emerald, but to me, a jewel's durability is important. I want my future children to be able to wear them and enjoy them. To me, emerald didn't seem very durable unless I truly babied it. Even then, it's not recommended to wear emerald every day. Then I discovered Jade. After careful research, I bought my first piece, which was a green leaf jade pendant. I can send a picture when I get home. It's got gorgeous texture. Then I discovered there were bangles made of this wonderful silky material! I was hooked. It seems like I have a lot for the time I've been collecting, but I've been very careful with what I spend. The most I've spent on any bangle was 350, from Ultimate jadeite. It was my first jadeite bangle purchase, and I wanted a guarantee that it was true grade A jadeite. I always look for slight imperfections, or lesser desired colors (to me texture is most important) which leads to a lower price, and allows me to amass more. I have more jadeite pendants, and rings. Most of those are from Mason Kay, with a discount for a first time purchase. I always look for deals. If I really want something more expensive (like that snake bangle) I usually sit on it. Even now, I can't believe I am going to buy it lol. I am not the one with the large handheld pendants. I can show my pendants and other jade aside from my bangles when I get home.

Hmm, I don't think I've noticed any scratches on my nephrite ones I've worn for years. I also prize texture. I need a consistent polish, one of my bangles has a patch they couldn't polish as well, and I don't like feeling it when I wear it, so I don't wear it much.

OMG same! It's why I don't wear cotton candy as much. I've debated getting it polished, but I worry my bangle will get lost in the mail.

Or maybe finally we are getting to know what putting on a properly sized jade bangle is supposed to feel like. According to some sites, I should be wearing 57-58mm or more! Those bangles would fall right off my hand. My proper size should be 53mm and the largest I’ll go is 55.15mm (I will have 2 bangles in this size, Skye is this size too).
I’m sure I could fit into a 50mm round because I have a thin silicone gold spacer that fits without too much of a struggle and bending. Just depends how much I want to go through when I’m swapping I guess. I never thought I would swap. I always thought I would have one permanent (maybe 2, one on each wrist) bangle but HAHAHAHAH. That’s not happening.
