Hi Ladies! I've missed you gals (and guys)! I got so swamped with going back to work after maternity leave. I feel like I'm working full time even though I'm not supposed to be! The last thing I remember was getting 2 pi disks from Allan a few months ago and thinking: I should post a photo on the forum and then life happened, and by the time I came up for air, it'd been months already! Geez... where does time go?

I was only able to go back maybe 15 pages or so and try to catch up with what's going on....

Crosso: I'm loving your jewelry creations! You've got a fantastic eye for composition on these pieces! And ohmigosh, I just came across the post you made of your bangles traveling! =D How fun to see the bag in action! I burst out laughing at the "Traveling Toe" Blog. I think you should do it!!! =D (Just think of the cute mascot you could draw for it!)

SilverMom: You got one of Allan's new square bangles! I was admiring them when he posted them. So unique and beautiful! How does it feel when you're wearing it? Does it roll around much with the weight of the corners? So curious how it feels!

Zipcount: that 666k bangle made me literally stop in my tracks. I can't believe something that beautiful really exists (although for that price tag maybe I can believe). =D

Molly0: Your BC nephrite bangles is beautiful! It reminds me a lot of the yukon snow from Allan! And how amazing to have it attached to a lovely memory too. Sentimental pieces are the best.

Fluftypants: That clear pendant is amazing! I saw Luxe Pieces at a gem show in Santa Clara and I loved their pieces. They were also one of the few stalls with obviously all Grade A pieces. I really wanted to go up and visit their shop, but SF is a bit of a trek for me right now with the babies. Did you have a good experience there?

JKP: Is that black carved bangle relatively new?! I don't remember seeing it before. It's stunning!

Red: Good to "see" you again! Hope things are going well!

Hi AJ, Allan's square bangles are very comfortable. They are just like any other shape. I really love my new square bangle. You should try getting one. I know you will love it.

Hi, AJ!!! How wonderful to "see" you again! Glad you are well and totally understand about 'life happening'. It goes by so quickly, especially when you are making changes like you have and adjusting to a new schedule and juggling work and home/kids. Will you post your Alan pi pendants when you have time?
Thanks so much for your compliments on my jewelry creations! It was satisfying to turn some things I was not crazy about into pieces I will wear.
I LOVE my bangle bag! It is an elegant, compact solution for storing bangles when traveling. You are a design genius!
The "Traveling Toe" made me laugh as well! If only the toes traveled more, I might actually consider a blog. Unfortunately, the only place they travel to most days is to and from work, the grocery store, the school, the soccer field, etc, which is not terrible interesting. I think from now on I will make SURE my toes appear in vaca photos though and someday will make a photobook for my son as a joke :roflmfao:
Take care until you have a moment to write again!

Thanks JKP, Molly and crosso on comps for my Matcha Latte princess!

RavageDingo, your new bangle looks great on you! It looks lavender, but it a rugged way that suits you!

Connie, thanks for sharing pics of your very very green bangle!

crystalline, I saw your black nephrite bangle on the other thread and it looks great! Your agates are a nice color, too!

AJ, so nice to hear from you! Would love to see pics of your pi's from Allan!

Molly, I was thinking of you and your Sweet Baby James yesterday when I wore Sabrina - love the turbulent swirls found in some B.C. nephrite!

Today giving Kiri some love - my poor cracked B.C. nephrite! I think she's tough because another bangle might have broke into pieces from the fall she took!

Hi AJMeow,

Yes, I had a very good experience at Luxe Pieces. They are super responsive via email with pictures and information. They were always kind and opening on Saturday for my viewing appointments. They never pressured me to buy and they have so many lovely pieces. I would def. go back a third time. :)

Well, I have another bangle coming. I KNOW, I KNOW!!! I said I was done! But I've been looking for a white princess bangle to wear with Coco, my black Guatemalan princess for about 9 months now. Not too opaque, but not icy/glassy either, as pure white as I could find in my limited price range. AndI found one! Wanted to share because I learned something new with this purchase. I bought from a Thai seller and if you all know anything about buying gems from Thailand, you know to be careful! This bangle comes with a "certificate " that looks more like an ID card with the testing lab not readily apparent. So I asked some questions and did some research. It was tested at Emil Gem Laboratory (Japan) and they issue a (less expensive) ID photo card that certifies grade a. I had never heard of them, so I looked them up and seems this is a well regarded lab by the experts on pricescope forum so I went ahead with it. Here is what the bangle looks like. I'll download the pis of the certificate card and attach to the next post.

Here is the cert. Would never have thought this genuine if I had not done the research. There is a website and as I said, it seems to be trusted and well regarded. Will post more oics when I receive in a few weeks.

Yes, that is the seller. Just be careful - some of the non-certified ones may be grade A, it is hard to tell, but there are definitely some treated ones too.

Dark Hetian of the day - my latest that I've named Oil Slick. She looks solid black in most lights and has some mottling that inspired her name. Her inner diameter is what I requested (56mm), but her width is not at least 21mm as requested - she measures only 15mm wide. It could've been due to the language barrier since she was a request and not one of his existing listings. But written numbers should transcend languages so I hoped... Nonetheless, she has a nice shape and thickness, solid nephrite specific gravity (3.00), and by not being as wide as requested, she's very comfortable for everyday wear. As we know, black goes with everything! ;-) I'll still consider a carved jadeite bangle from him especially since a couple of jade sisters are happy with theirs from him. But none in my size are strongly beckoning me yet.

Love it, J4Me!!! It's so shiny! While it may be less than the width you asked for, it looks great on you. Substantial, but not overwhelming. Please show more pics! Especially if you can show the swirly/ mottled bits in a different light. You have me curious, because in the pic you posted it looks solid inky black. Which, as you pointed out, is classic. 😊 Good buy!
