I'd have to agree with crosso that it's lovely, but if it's not very expensive it may be treated jadeite.

Hi J4Me! Thanks so much for your kind comments and compliments! Once I started with the jewelry reworks, I just couldn't stop, lol! I "customized" those little earrings a bit too and have now taken out the jump ring so they look a little more clean. They had green ones and black ones, but now just have black ones left, which was perfect for me as I was looking for another black/charcoal pendant to wear w/ my dark bangles. Not sure if the green ones were grade a or not, but I've never heard of black/gray jade being dyed, as it's just not as popular as other colors. The eyes are 14K and garnet. I'm not crazy about snakes in real life, but I like them in jewelry! A jade snake bangle would be super cool, I think
Jade4Me, it is very comfortable. I like it a lot. I made it a little smaller than my usual so it is even more comfortable on.JKP, that pin is so unique and such details - great find!
Crosso, your reworks look awesome! You're getting really good! This is how it all starts with some of us! I'm not a lifelong jewelry maker, but definitely have been a lifelong jewelry lover!
Huge congrats Silver Mom on your new square bangle!!! Beautiful color!!! Is the shape comfortable and doesn't knock around any worse than a round shape?
What a great choice in jade and design, blackromantic! Very chic and ultra high end looking! You have lovely hands, too, with such graceful long fingers! You should be a hand model!
I think the square bangles are so neat and modern looking. I would not be able to wear one.... I already knock my bangles on everything... It would take me less than a week to crack a corner!

Yep, me too, JKP. I adore the square bangles - they are so shiny and modern looking. But I know I'd be banging it on everything. I already do with my current bangles - which is why I won't spend more than a few hundred on one. It's only a matter of time before I crack one.

I'm fairly content with my collection, but I'm still hunting for a men's ring that's not over-the-moon expensive, but has good size and color for the cabochon. I'm also open to collecting more carved bangles.... Preferably in smaller sizes and fun colors. I'm really surprised at how my carved bangles are such different colors and shapes.
Long-term... maybe saving up for my dream black.... not this year, though probably.

I have one more carved bangle coming - because it was inexpensive and like you, I love the carved ones, so couldn't resist. But I'm done collecting for the most part. I have my eye on one other carved ring, but that's it. I am always looking just for fun, but it seems to be getting harder to find nice or unusual grade a pieces that are not terribly expensive. There is so much treated jade out there! So I'm glad that I've gotten the deals I have over the past year, although at times it seemed like too much, too fast ( and some months too much $!). I'm resigned to the fact that I will never get my dream lavender, as they are just too expensive - more than I feel comfortable paying for something I know I could break or crack. I'm happy with my collection and enjoy having a variety of jade to wear every day. 😊

Another bangle that's been neglected and is getting some love now. Moon Unit is one of my smaller ones so she'll stay on for at least a couple of days, but she's not painful (with hair conditioner) because her inside edge is slight rounded like a comfort fit ring. 1st pic shows her "crater" - the white curved line must have been an old fracture that is now completely filled in, glass smooth and even translucent. 2nd pic shows her other grey to blue-green transition, and the 3rd is her "dark side" which is dark blue-green/teal. TGIF!
