Hi jadies!

How's everyone's weekend? Here it started with lovely weather that soon turned gray and then went full on rain. 3am and I got woken up by a CRACK of thunder that sounded like it would split the house. Lots of rumbles after that, but it looks like it is clearing up today, at least on Maui.. I think Big Island is bearing the brunt of the storm now.

As far as jade goes, I'm still on the hunt for a men's ring for my dad and I'm in talks with a seller who is very communicative about a used ring, but might be slightly annoyed with all my questions about treatment. If the stone is treated, he's definitely asking too much... but he hasn't had it tested, so can't say for sure. And of course, if he sends it for testing and it is treated... lose money! It'll only be worth the gold price and he's out the cost of testing.

The win for him would be if he sends it for testing and it is not treated. Such a gamble.

I'm not going to link it or name the seller until it gets all sorted out, just to be fair.

Anyone had this dilemma before?

In love with this bangle at the moment...although it doesn't say it's a Grade A. Does this matter?

It's better to avoid treated jade if you can. B grade is weakened by its acid and polymer treatment. C grade is dyed and how long the color lasts I don't know. B+C grade is weakened and dyed. If you don't mind the treatments and don't pay much for them, you can enjoy them like costume jewelry.

Anyway, back to the topic of jade. Can any sister advise if you ever wear jade bangle to play tennis please? Thank you.

I personally wouldn't, but others might. I think the guy who wears his black nephrite princess bangle 24/7 wears his playing tennis no problem. Do you have a double handed backhand like most women do? That's when I'd worry banging a bangle.

Love your new pendants! Very sweet of you to gift the rat pendant to your mom!

Jkp, when I read your dilemma, I immediately linked to how traders sometimes pay too much or too little for the raw jade boulders. In jade business, there is always gambling involved. We sometimes are not sure if we overpaid for certain jade pieces too.

Bottom line is we will keep our priority. Make sure that it's grade A before you purchase the ring. The seller has to know/ understand his product well so that customer will buy with confidence.

Don't feel obligated when the seller is nice to you. Business means business.

Thank you, Jade4Me.

Today's jade: beads and Koi kiss bangle. Wearing my little goldfish earrings too!
Re the 2nd pic, was thinking of stringing these leftover beads on a delicate silver chain. Are they a good enough match, do you think? Any creative ideas? I hate leaving jade just sitting unassembled and unworn!
I think my nephrite teardrop/peridot/pearl necklace will be here today if the mailman can get down our snowy, icy street! It's already starting to melt, thank goodness!

I think those 7 beads look nice together! You can use gold or silver spacer beads in between them, too, if you wish. I love your new nephrite & pearl necklace! The green looks very rich!

Can you ask the option to return it for a full refund if you send it out to be certified, and it ends up being treated jade? That is if you want to invest in getting it certified.
