Mymeimei, your new Ms swirl is lovely! Congratulations!! There isn't a better feeling then getting a new, anticipated bangle! The first few weeks of getting to know it are magical!!

GS, happy Chinese New Year! We haven't seen Snake in such a long time! It's as beautiful as ever! What is the energy like these days?

Snake has given me a very good rest for the past 2 days. No anxiety or weird dreams like in the past.

Hi everyone,

I've been a longtime lurker on this thread. I'm hoping to try on bangles in person so I can get a better idea of fit this weekend. I would like to find a bangle to wear 24/7. I'm going to a Luxe Pieces in SF. They sent me pictures of untreated Burmese jade bangles. The first one is out of budget, I'm aiming to spend under $3k.

Any tips for buying bangles in person? I don't know if I should just get fitted and buy from overseas so I can get a certification. Thanks for your help and thoughts!

Hi fluffy pants!! Welcome! How exciting! Those are beautiful and the color combos are rare. I would def go and see them in person. This way you can get a feeling for size. Should you love one of them, ask what kind of guarantee they have that they are A grade.do they have a cert? If not, can they send it in, or offer you a full refund if found to be anything other then A grade. This should be in writing on the receipt.

IMO it's always best to see it in person, though buying oversees from a reputable seller is a viable way to go too! Good luck, And please keep us posted!

Thank you so much for the advice and help. I will definitely ask about the guarantee and refund policy in writing.

I saw on GeGeDesigns etsy shop that the seller will get a GIA certication for an extra $200. Is that where everyone else gets their jade certified?

Kali, there are a few places that one can get jade certified, but the biggest one is the GIA. Basically, you send in your bangle and for 80$ they will test to see if it's dyed or polymer infused. Gege likely does this, except she goes through the work of mailing it.

Another place that offers certification in America is through Mason Kay. It's the same procedure.

If you buy online, they will have certs from other labs. A big one in china is CMA. Any reputable cert will have a number which, when typed into the lab website, will pull up a picture and details of the exact bangle.
