I think those of us in cold climates are tired of winter and ready for spring! Here's Mochi getting streamers effect from the sunshine.

Claire, I love your new diamond earrings! They look like something out of a museum! I think the warm colors in Sonoma are prepping you for your Siberian nephrite bangle! Will your his/hers Siberian nephrite bangles be pure white or will they have touches of golden hues?

Ms Lin, that was super fast! Your new bangle looks even more translucent on you! Are you happy with it and do you name your bangles?

Molly, so glad to hear you're feeling better and peppier nowadays!

fanofjadeite, I love your new incoming bangle! I can't wait for mod shots to see how the colors look on you!

crosso, congrats on your latest beaded necklace! The soft greens do look nice on your fur baby's handsome neck! The other day I put a jade bangle on my dog's snout - he didn't appreciate that... Not to worry he was laying down on carpeting and not going anywhere with the bangle...

Hi, was uncontactable for a whole day while I tried to solve the stupid issue with my phone. Well, it's dead. RIP. I'm using my dad's spare blackberry as a backup while I try and solve the issue :( The wonders and curses of technology.

Anyway, back to the topic. In Singapore we have a couple of places that you can go to for Jade. The trustworthy ones are Li Hong (Chinatown area) and Peach Blossom Gallery (Orchard area) or the goldsmith shops like poh heng. However, prices are steep! (thousands)

At Far east plaza there is also a shop called mudan which is supposedly trustworthy but a bit pricey http://www.mudanjewellery.com/

At Joo Chiat there is also Singapore designer Choo Yi Lin who does unique pieces of jewelry. I've been eyeing some pieces cause she adds precious stones to jade for a more modern look. You can even customize! But also a bit pricey.

(hundreds-thousands)

My colleague suggested I go to Fu Lu Shou Complex (bugis area) cause she got her lavender jade bangle there for 200 but I have to warn you that 1) some shops might be cheats (trustworthiness=???) 2) it's full of Buddhist and religious paraphernalia (in case you mind :D) !

They also sell jade at the bigger Isetan stores and Takashimaya. But I can't guarantee the authenticity though I've bought a piece here and there.

Alternatively, you can just walk around Chinatown like germanshepard said but remember not to pay too much if you aren't sure about the authenticity!
(please don't pay more than a few hundreds here!)

Here's a sample of the stuff i got from peach blossom gallery:

Hi Ms Lin,
thank you so much for all the information!! Sorry about your phone; yes, technology is somewhat of a necessity these days :roflmfao: I feel like thanks to you, I've got a better idea on what to expect and look for :) Must say that Choo Yi Lin's website is extremely tempting...gulp!

The other problem will be trying to remain calm and collected while looking around!! I can't wait to head over now :D

Jade4 me, what a beautiful photo of a beautiful bangle !

Thanks for the compliments on the earrings! Though I've never been much of a diamond for diamond's sake person, the design of these, and the clarity and brightness of these won me over ! The idea is that they go with all jade.

You are right, Sonoma is whetting my appetite for the Siberian pair. They will definitely have some of the root beer crust!

Btw, I had to laugh at the mental image of the bangle on your doggie's nose lol!

Crosso, congratulations on the new beads! Opera length is wonderful, as is the varying size! Those will look wonderful on you! Now, of the 2 strands you have, which is your favorite? And, one is still coming, right?

Your kitty looks like a ruler!

Thanks, Claire! The kitty boy may look slightly majestic with the addition of jade, but let me assure you, he is a complete goofball!
Hmmm, tough question about the beads. I'm very taken with beads in general right now and bought two completely different cloisonne bead necklaces recently and am considering a black jade bead necklace also. The oil blue/ green ones were coming from 3jade, so I don't expect those for another couple of wks or more, what with CNY going on.
Most of my pendants are small and beads make much more of a statement to me right now. But each set is very different ( size, length, graduated or not, color) and so fulfills a different fashion niche. How a necklace's length and visual "weight" interacts with a garment's neckline is aesthetically intriguing to me at the mo and I'm having fun playing with that a bit.
The yellow/white pixiu ring did not work out - it is huge! I'm sure I can find something with SC to use a merch credit towards though, if not now, then in the future.
I'm glad to hear you're giving Sonoma some love - that is a really pretty bangle!
Sweet dreams! I'm off to bed!

Crosso, I understand exactly what you mean by being intrigued by different beads and necklines of clothing! And, I agree about the grandeur of beads, and what a different statement they make from pendants! I think those barrel shaped oil green beads will be simply gorgeous!
Looking forward to modeling pics!!
Also, your cat is adorable! He looks so utterly comfortable, and somewhat pillow like himself, lounging on the sofa.

Regarding giving Sonoma some love, I was wondering if, next summer, I were to see her sister bangle unsold at the store, whether I will be tempted to buy it. Would be cool to have a true pair!
