oooh! I forgot about 3jade...

Uli had a great suggestion James

If we're talking practice bangles for sizing, 3jade also has onyx & basalt.

onyx: http://www.ebay.com/itm/63mm-Chunky...046129?pt=Fashion_Jewelry&hash=item1c4691d2f1

basalt: http://www.ebay.com/itm/61-5mm-Natu...172960?pt=Fashion_Jewelry&hash=item2c7d71d460

also nephrite:http://www.ebay.com/itm/60-5mm-A-Gr...1627?pt=US_Fine_Bracelets&hash=item2c82ef72eb

Allan Spehar of jadedivers.com also does custom bangle work with nephrite so if you know a shape and exact bangle size, you might try and see if he has any good stone to work with. Many of us on this thread have bangles done by him.

edited to add: found the edwards black bangles on his FB page!

okay here's pictures of both pair of earrings... I'm thinking of finding some silk tassels to add to the loops at the bottom of the beaded earrings.

haha! we're on thread #3 and likely this one will be archived soon and Swanky will start us a new one.

The great thing about jade is that there are so many different options, pattern, and colorings. Do you have a price range? Ultimate Jadeite has some larger black jadeite bangles at the moment, but on the expensive side. Red tends to be more brownish-red unless it is very expensive or heat-treated. Heat-treated reds are still considered Grade A because there is no dye or polymer or bleaching, but it can be dry & more brittle.

And there are so many hues of green!

I'd love to be able to spend a 1000$ but I don't have that kind of money. My max budget is probably somewhere around 500 and not really willing to exceed that.

Oh my those black ones are so awesome and stunning!

Before I had the confidence of "coming out" (haha), I did some searching a lot of which in Chinese for trying to find any documentation of men wearing them.

I've stumbled onto these which I love a lot:

I mean these are super expensive like 6000$ minimum. I was just putting them out here for a reference.

Also for style is just the "traditional Chinese" one too feminine or something?

Also as a guy, my arms are slightly bigger, does the shape of the bracelet dictate the movement around the arm. I'd prefer it to free flow up and down my arm then locked into a single position. Thank you for taking me into your community. It's nice to know other people like this too...

I am also fine with paying for the test bangle just to see it fits and could be a good way to gauge the frequency in which I actually wear it. Though I'm still a bit shy toward the exact size and the "shape" of it. Thanks for the help!

As for how well a bangle stays up on your arm, for me D-shapes like in the photos you posted stay up on my arm about the same as princess round shape. But other jade sisters have found one or the other to stay up on their arm better.

Here's some affordable dark green nephrite bangles you could try for size and still have "real" jade. They have certificates, too.

My mom does not wear any jade. I'm cursed to be the only one in my family to have a passion for jade.
While I do not promote this company because of the awful buying experiences others have had, I found this article of theirs interesting because it talks about men wearing jade bangles.

Here's the guy that recently bought his 2nd forever bangle - look for Bracelet Paul on the page. I'm not sure if he told us if his new jade bangle is jadeite or nephrite.

Alright, so it would appear it would be time to get one of these test bangles. I've measured my hand to the best of my ability it would appear that I'm between 60 and 65mm and I want Grade A and I would like it to be able to flow up and down my arm.

So it would appear this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/64MM-NATURA...709467?pt=Fashion_Jewelry&hash=item51c3c3555b would be the best fit right?

I would want it bigger to have it being more mobile. I did read the man article actually before I got here.

What do you mean forever bangle? Thanks, I'm already ready for checkout I think, unless I'm over seeing anything

Oh, we use the term 'forever bangle' for a 24/7 bangle. Many have endured pain & bruises to get one on and then do not ever intend to take it off unless it breaks or it has to be broken off for medical treatment. But hopefully our jade will protect us from such calamities! Myself I don't wear a bangle so small that it bruises or hurts when I use soap & water, or my current favorite is wet hands and hair conditioner. I have a 53mm D-shape with rather sharp edges that borders on a little pain, so if I put her on I wear her for at least a few days at a time before taking her off. The rest of my bangles I switch out on a daily basis - sometimes more than once a day depending on my mood and outfit! ;)

If you get one on the large side, you may not like how it bangs around and flops on your wrist. That is what I found at least because my wrist is small, but my hand is not so small and I need to accommodate my hand, but then it's loose around my wrist. But it really is personal preference so it's good you're willing to try different sizes to see what you like.

Hi everyone! Busy weekend, but finally caught up with you all a bit! It won't be long at all before there is a new thread started at the rate you all post! It's wonderful to see so much sharing.
JKP, love the enijew earrings! I agree, no one will be staring at your ears too closely and her earrings are so cute and really a great deal.

Uli, your new earrings DO match your eyes perfectly! So beautiful - the earrings and YOU! Thanks for posting those videos, they were so interesting.

GS, your glassy peapod is unbelievable! What a gorgeous piece that will go with anything. I've seen a few different interpretations of the meaning of a peapod as a symbol, all very auspicious!: The peapod, due to its succulent form and figure, is symbolic of a purse bursting with gold coins, as well as the blessing of numerous offspring and children. Four peas represent luck in all four season; three peas the descent of Fu Lu Shou deities; two peas keep both the mother and her child safe.

Claire, I really like your Xmas idea, especially when you have a big family. It keeps things simple and keeps the focus on the celebration itself and spending special time together with your loved ones. If you happen to find any of that blue jade before Christmas, let me know, because that would definitely be on my Christmas list, as you know! Heart of the ocean describes it perfectly - I love that deep, clear blue. Wouldn't it be something to find some with some translucence to it, too? That would be really special!

Molly, hope you are hanging in there and being kind to yourself. Thinking of you and sending strength and healing thoughts your way.

Red, hope to see you back soon! You know my thoughts are with you as well and I am wishing peace for you in this challenging time.

James, welcome! The jade sisters here have given you great advice. Hope your "meant-to-be" bangle finds you soon. Truthfully, though, the hunt is half the fun!

Got another bangle from SC - this one was really a bargain that I could not pass up and I really liked the delicacy of the size as a counterpoint to my chunkier bangles. This one is about the size of Solana, the white with yellow spot one I recently got from her. I really do not understand her pricing strategy though! Bought this one for $79 and it specifically said grade A. Solana was initially priced at $1900!!!! I did not pay that, of course, she accepted a best offer, but still! The quality of both bangles is very nice. With the new one, the only stone lines are very slight and where there is a color change. It has nice translucence too. Is white jadeite that rare? I remember seeing some very reasonably priced white bangles on jojo. Just can't figure out why the white one was priced so much higher than this new one . . . oh well, lucky me, I think I got a bargain. Will post better pics later, here is SC's (kinda lousy) pic.

Hugs, everyone!
