 You’re hilarious. I’m very happy for you!! Stop hunting, let your SA know and wait for it to arrive, done.

Thank you dear!
My dog was looking at this over my shoulder and was particularly interested in the wide variety of colorful balls shown for next season.

hahaaa mine, too!! So perhaps they'll go shopping without out next season? Oh Lord, this will be very expensive..

Oooooh I'm excited by that peek of the yellow Brides de Gala! I really want a yellow scarf and I was hoping the current season's Brides de Gala Shadow might do it but that one veers too close to orange.

You are a very kind person, and I sound like a bit of a cranky pants, but truly I don’t give these SA’s a hard time, nor do I expect them to have any esoteric knowledge about the brand. Simply that they know the basic terminology like CSGM, or silk twill, or the names of the scarves in the current and previous season,( not even the upcoming season!) That is about how familiar you expect a waitress in a cafe to be with their product. To me the pleasure of shopping in a store as venerable as Hermes is both their creative history, but their pride of proprietorship and of good and knowledgeable customer service. It may simply be my particular boutique however, as I’ve never have never encountered it anywhere else.

I am new to Hermes this year, but I have purchased a number of scarves - mostly 90s, but a few csgms, twillies, silk 140s, triangles, a 70 and a losange - as well as some jewelry from a single boutique/SA. (Yikes, that is a lot. Must slow down with the new season.)

My SA (who I think is great) said to me a few visits ago that she would have to begin studying artists and designs again to keep up with my conversation. She said she doesn't have many regular clients any longer who care about the artistry the same way and that most of the clientele she sees is more transitory, viewing scarves more as a commodity.

She said she really appreciates my passion for scarves and, while that used to be the norm for her customers, for her, there are just a few of us who are so invested in knowing about the history, the designs and the artists these days.

Trip report from last week on the double sided scarves: they're printed on a single piece of silk by using a special technique to prevent the ink from bleeding through. Based on the SA's vague description of the technique, it sounds like some physical innovation in the weaving process is key to these scarves. I wonder whether it's the insertion of a matrix to hold the fibers apart and prevent bleed through of ink to the other side?

Hmm, wonder what the texture will feel like compared to standard twill.
