The story behind
The Cape mountain zebra is a rare protected species found in the south-eastern provinces of South Africa. Alice Shirley’s design is modeled on a foal that has wandered off to explore the fynbos, the unique vegetation of the southernmost region of the country. It grows in poor soil, and is regenerated by the bush fires sparked by lightning in the dry season. In spring, the fynbos transforms into a fragrant, multi-colored carpet of flowers, a dreamlike vista. The artist has reproduced almost forty different plants to create a sumptuous setting for the little zebra.
LadyCupid, thank you . I must say that I think Alice Shirley has outdone herself with Mountain Zebra. This is one stunning scarf.

I’m feeling the same way! I thought cosmographia Was a must because I was obsessed with animapolis. I ended up went with jungle love rainbow which I was like “nice but okay” in the beginning but then it absolutely spoke to me when I saw it in person. I also thought I would love Pegase but I cant say I’m in love after seeing all the colorway. This is a weird season for me because I feel like all scarves are like a 7-8 or of 10 but not a lot was a 10. Unlike previous seasons...certain designs were a 10/10 for me (jaguar, Grand Prix, animapolis, act 3, kawa ora...).
Before AW19 launch, I was quite impressed for this season. I tried couple design from local stores and deduce half of the design. Not just because of budget, but I also consider my wardrobe has similar colour ways, Mountain Zebra has been out and Acte III, I got a Acte III 90 cm in green. BDG, JL, and Pegase CSGM are presenting the mood of shadow for this season, I think pick only one of them would be sufficient for build up scarves inventory. Will visit my local store couple more times and see my “must” buy scarves for this season.

Not sure this is the correct thread for a discussion about what appears to be a new scarf ring, but I love it, and it is on this new F/W 90 scarf, Pegase Paysage.

What a nice scarf ring!! But my feeling this ring will easily cause pulls on shawls.

That’s how I feel! I might get a losange but then the only men losange that I’ve seen is the dragon one....which looks good in photo but I have a feeling it will be meh in person...like the rawrrr.

@HermesLoverJen . Do you think the "lock" will cause a problem, and tear or get stuck on a scarf, or something entirely different? Thanks for any clarification you can offer. I am sure the scarf ring is smooth and has no pointy edges, but I am new to Hermes scarves and have only purchased one scarf ring in my lifetime. LOL.

Do you mean the hem or the border? I don't think it matters unless the border is quite wide (and therefore very noticeable with most knots) like on JL. I do like the contrast hem on these too, it finishes it off beautifully.
I may have misunderstood the conversation about the border and hems. I thought the conversation was about hems but I reread it and it was more about boarders. My bad

Another new addition to my giant silk collection, and I love it. I also was pleasantly surprised that it is the summer silk, not the heavier winter silk. I’m sure it was mentioned here but I missed it. Will it be like this from now on? I love the lighter silk in the giant scarves. Excuse the bow, it’s not my best.
