It is exceedingly hard to get local hot stamp in Japan. Japan overall is very rule driven with very few exceptions. They will only hot stamp the item you bought in their store. There are only three stores in Tokyo that has permanent hot stamps… ginza, Haneda airport, and hachiko (sp?). Other stores get special hot stamps only during time like Sakura season, Christmas, etc. The stamps only stay at store for two weeks and rotate to other stores. So unless you have a local SA to call you in when special stamp comes in, it’s hard to catch it as a tourist just
I just arrived back in the states from Japan today. (Shibuya men’s store) does hot stamping of the famous Hachiko dog. Very friendly staff there.
I also bought two passport holders at Haneda with the airplane stamp (for my daughters). I would attach a photo but they are wrapped in my bag at the moment as I’m on a layover on my way home. If you want a stamp at Haneda get to the airport early,it was the busiest LV I’ve seen. Lots of friendly staff ready to help tho, but stamping does take a little time.
