Thank you for your replies. It's great to hear different perspectives.

I am definitely someone who invests in and carries only classic bags - my collection is small and includes the Chanel Classic Flap, GST, Prada Saffiano Tote and LV Neverfull. So it makes sense to keep the GST since I don't see myself spending money on trendy and seasonal bags.

Looking at that new Chanel tote just made me laugh) and I can see why I should never part with my GST!!

I’ve been carrying my beige GST for the past few days! It’s a great tote and carries everything I need. I also have the newer style timeless tote (large shipping tote with small metal cc’s) but wish the strap was more substantial like the GST. To me, The GST is a timeless style. I don’t find the stitched cc’s to be flashy, they’re very subtle IMO.

i bought the exact same bag in the same year n it still looks brand new too. get loadss of compliments everytime i take this baby out. imo its definitely a must keep. i agree wit willeyi tat all discontinued bags dont have to be sold!! good luck deciding

Hi I am from Malaysia and GST with GHW was my first chanel bag, well actually first and only I purchased it in HK back in 2010. Till now it is still holding up well and looks like new! still loving it to bits

GSTs are so classic! They fit right in now with logos and totes that are so fashionable now!!!

I am convinced Chanel discontinued them because they were priced so cheap. New totes are $4k and higher.

Yes. You cannot even get it anymore at the boutiques or dept stores. The last retail price was a bargain at $2900 and it was only a few years ago. Amazing!

Such a pity its discontinued. I find it heavy and therefore it doesn't get a lot of use. I do see them regularly in consignment stores. Let me know if you want me to DM the names of the stores as they ship internationally. I paid under €2000 for mine in 2008. Crazy... Anyone know if all Chanel bags had gold plating in 2008 or just flaps?
