I was in the market for a GP30 and I felt like any one I found that was in good condition was as much or more than retail. I don't know exactly what retail is right now, but thinking it's in the high $3's. Every one I found, that I liked, was around $4K. I do agree that once they get worn a bit, they do lose some of their value quickly, but not too much.

They might be priced more than retail but if you are the one selling, and you are selling TO Fashionphile etc or awaiting a commission from the RealReal, your cut of that price will be less of course. So buying on the pre-loved market might cost people more, but if you are selling on the preloved market and going through a third party to do so, you will most likely not recover your initial investment. And that, from my point of view, is fine. You buy a GP, use it for a time and resell it. It will still yield a decent amount in resale which is a lot more than what you can say for most brands.

Such good points! Still think they are a good investment, but mostly because they are great bags.

My GP30 was €2,900 in Paris (Negonda in Blue indigo) if it helps :)

I am torn between the 30 and 36. I found a gorgeous 30 in my dream color, but wonder if it will be too small on my 5'9 frame. Does anyone have photos they would care to share of them with their 30/ and or 36???? Thank you in advance!!!!

I thought the 30 was way too small when I first saw it at the store but then I started seeing more photos of people wearing it and I now think it's the more polished looking size. The 36 looks very functional, like a hauling $hit around bag, but the 30 looks like an actual handbag (especially in dark colors and epsom).

Here's some inspo... not of me though!

Ideally you would be able to try and return if you don’t love it on YOU. I’m 5’2 and love 36 even if I might not fill it up. The 30 doesn’t suit me at all although I like it on others. Both are classic and beautiful. Check out GP clubhouse thread for many pics including a recent one of my pink.
Also as mentioned elsewhere bags look bigger in photos than irl.

I own a GP 30 and it's my favourite. I, too, was torn between getting the 30 or 36 at first but, as @smallfry has pointed out, the purpose of the bag is an important factor. I figured that my GP won't be a work tote as the GP 36 doesn't rest comfortably on my shoulders as my other work totes would, I designated the GP as my "dainty" handbag to be held with my forearms for dates and "garden party"-ish hangouts lol (i.e. no need to bring too many stuff apart from essentials)

For your ref, GP 30 isn't too small at all as it holds all my essentials including my ionic comb  And I don't think it looks ridiculously small on my forearms - I'm 5'8. And since it's made of leather, it's not the lightest weight bag I have held either so I could only imagine how heavy the 36 is if fully packed.

Go try both sizes on if you can and you can make an informed decision! Good luck with your bag hunting :amuse:

I have a 36 and I like it cuz I have the option to carry a lot of stuff. I'm 5'2" and even if I don't fill up the bag, I don't feel the bag is too big on me either. During the warmer days, I can even carry it on my shoulders, if need be. I have a bag shaper in there too cuz I dont' like the bag losing its shape too much. I do want a 30 though since day to day I don't tend to carry too much stuff.

i've had my 36 for 3 years and just got a 30. I wasn't using my 36 as much because i dont need to carry that much on the day to day right now. i'll only use it if I need to carry around papers or something so I agree you should get the size depending on how you'll use it. I think of the 30 as more of a "handbag" vs the 36

I was torn too, between both sizes until I tried lifting up a 36 full leather. It’s heavy although empty. That was a deal breaker for me. Happy with 30 but I would consider a 36 canvas, if the colour is right.

I stopped using the 30 (usually it’s on the crook of my left arm) since I have tennis elbow on my right. I’m back to a shoulder bag.

If you can try both sizes, you would know which works best.

I think people are surprised by the weight, but also some full-leathers are lighter than others. Negonda being the mid, Epsom the lightest and VC possibly the heaviest (I have VC). Certainly the canvas are light by comparison and surprisingly smart in some cws.
