I purchased a Aimeré converter kit and strap for my GP36. I have yet to load up the bag and will probably mostly carry it by hand but I am happy to have this as an option.

The leather on the strap and hardware are well made and seem durable.

Thanks for sharing this. :flowers: It appears the strap loop hardware fits between the bag snaps. Does it feel quite secure (unlikely to pop open the snaps)?

You’re welcome! I know a few people have been curious about conversion kits or wishing the GP had a strap so wanted to share in case it helps.

So it popped open a few times yesterday, both times when I had the bag crossbody which I don’t think is a good idea because I think the friction of wearing it that way opens the snaps.

Going to give it one more try before I come to a conclusion. Stay tuned

I think the straps look too much like Hermes for me to feel comfortable about it.

If people already have a strap (H or otherwise) they can by some rings in a locksmith/key cutters or a haberdashery.

The problem is if the poppers are not tight enough, it won't stay at all, and if they are too tight it could pull the entire popper through. You'll be left with a hole where one side of the popper should be.

When I fist had my (all-leather) GP, that's what happened to me from just trying to unppop it to accommodate a few more things and I was really careful, putting my fingers all the way round and supporting the leather. I was left with a hole (happily, H changed both pop-sduds and now both sides are fine).

The funny thing is I don’t even need the strap but the kit was sold that way and when I buy something I generally try it the way it is sold.

These rings have two loops (a big one where the snaps go through and a smaller one where the strap attaches.

If I’d known I could just buy these I would have but I’ve never seen this type of attachment before.

I remember when your snap popped off!
