I'm deciding between gold vs ebene for a GP30. Gold is so classic and I own a gold K28 and a Barenia Faubourg B25, but given the lack of feet, would it wear poorly? I intend to use the GP as a worry-free, casual bag. I don't have any big black/dark color tote yet.
Is ebene a dull color?
I have used either my black or craie GPs daily for years worry free. The craie bag shows minor wear on the corners if you look closely. Ebene is a lovely deep color. The GP is the perfect under the radar knock around bag worth every penny. Hope that helps.

I have the gp30 in Ebene and I adore it, it’s very dark almost black, although the color does seem to change depending on the light.

My first GP! 23 in Béton. My amazing SA offered this to me after first offering a mini herbag. I was never into the herbags, so she offered this and I am thrilled! I've wanted a GP in Negonda and the beton in a mini was just the cherry on top. I am surprised how roomy this little bag is and can't wait to use her more in the summer ahead!

I am considering getting a GP36 to use as a workbag. For work, I need to carry a 13-inch laptop, a keyboard, a headset, and possibly my lunch lol.

Has anyone used their GP as a workbag? I am concerned hands are too delicate to carry the weight I need to carry. For years, I have been going to work with a Tumi backpack because it's so practical. I used to carry a Mulberry Bayswater to work like 15 years ago, and I hated it because a leather bag with a laptop and other stuff was too heavy to carry. I still use public transport to go to work, so weight is still a concern :)

I have multiple Bayswater bags (including the Apple collab version) and agree about how heavy they are with all my work stuff (I walk/take transit to work and carry my 15” laptop every day too). However, unlike the GP36, I can fit the Bays over my shoulder. I don’t find the GP36 to be any lighter than my Bayswater. I am not giving mine up, but I haven’t enjoyed using it for work.

After much trial and error, post pandemic I have settled on using a Clare V Le Zip Sac for days when I carry less and the large size Prada ReNylon tote for days when I have to carry a lot. They are both lightweight.

Outside of work though, the GP30 is my favorite handbag ever and I regret not having bought one (or two or three) decades ago!

Oh my goodness, you sound like you're having the exact same dilemma as me right now! I am looking for a bag for work to carry a laptop, earbuds, and maybe 2-3 notebooks. I also take public transit to work, so weight is a concern for me too. I briefly spoke with my SA about the GP 30 as a work bag maybe a year ago or so, and she said that sometimes people can fit a laptop in the GP 30 with the sides unsnapped. I would still worry though that the full leather version would be quite heavy. Plus the limited interior organization (just the one side pocket, I think) is not the best. Thanks for the feedback on the Bayswater. That one was also a consideration for me. I am back to considering the GP or other option

Though I do not own a 36, I do have a GP 30cm. I noticed after a full day of work involving a lot of city walking, I could definitely sense the weight on the handles when the bag was somewhat full. I would worry that adding a lap top to any garden party would stretch the handles. I don't know if that much weight is good for the bag, but perhaps someone with experience on the 36 can chime in.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I did not know GP is as heavy as Bayswster.
I do not put my bags over my shoulder anymore, but good to know GP does not fit.

I use a garden party 36 as my work bag. It's not lined with leather, so it is much lighter than a Birkin 35. I think it's the perfect work bag to carry a laptop etc. Who cares if the handles stretch a bit over time?
Makes sense. Though I don’t really baby my bags, don’t want them last one year either. More of thinking if I can use a GP for 3-5 years as my workhouse bag

I purchased a Aimeré converter kit and strap for my GP36. I have yet to load up the bag and will probably mostly carry it by hand but I am happy to have this as an option.

The leather on the strap and hardware are well made and seem durable.
