You are so right. It really is about the proportions. Not just of the bag tho. For the first time in my life I thought "does this bag make my butt look big(ger)". And yes, yes it does.

hee hee, then you have your answer! I think because it is truly a shrunken down version of the GP 36, it throws things off. IMO, the GP is supposed to be a tote bag, so to me, on me, the 30 never looks quite right.
 
I am so conflicted on whether I should keep the GP 36 or not - I need a tote but whether this is the right one? I prefer feet and a longer strap drop but I can see that it is so practical overall.

I own a GP 36
Feet would be nice. I fit the straps on my shoulder.
I also wear on my arm or handheld
It is practical & had a nice "swing"

For some reason, the lack of feet on this bag doesn't really bother me. I do wish the strap drop was an inch or two longer -- I wear the GP on my shoulder, but it can feel awkward with a bulky coat or when the bag is really stuffed. That said, it's a work horse, quality, understated bag.
