Has anyone's Gabrielle (particularly in medium and large sizes) sagged badly even kept stuffed when not in use?

I keep my medium Gabrielle stuffed and also use a samorga organizer when I use the bag but I'm really concerned if the leather will totally flop and sag (I've seen some photos like these from fashionphile)

Is there anyone who has had the bag for longer (eg since last year) who can advise?

Thanks in advance![emoji847]

I think the bag is destined to flop and sag especially if you do not carry a lot in it that helps support the upper areas. I keep my wife's stuffed and also ordered a samorga insert for her. So far it is looking good with no major creases in the upper area. But it has only been a month or two of 2-3 uses per week. I will try to update this post after the summer is over. New England has had lousy weather the last month and she keeps going back to her old LV bag for usage a lot of days. She does not care what happens to that.

Thanks! It's so sweet of you to do so for your wife. I have used it every day for one whole week, and now it's just being rotated.. But wonder if it will continue to sag even if I keep it stuffed during storage. I hope not! I like the structured yet soft leather look.

Hi all,

I just joined the club and bought my first gabrielle bag in small size! May I know if any of you apply leather conditioner to protect the leather?
I do use a conditioner (Cadillac leather cleaner/conditioner), but only as needed. I live in a pretty dry climate, so I try to keep my babies from being thirsty. Haven't noticed any changes (in any of my bags) after conditioning, except the leather feeling supple and soft. Congratulations on your Gabrielle!

I had my medium Gabrielle for six months. I stuffed it during storage, making sure the chains were not on top to weigh it down. I got a big crease within the first month, it was expected given the quality of aged calfskin. My bag never flopped, but it sagged a little, after six months of use- wearing it about four times a week.
I was getting a little nervous because I knew it wasn’t a forever bag, and I wondered what the leather would look like after a year or two. I sold it.
I have seen some really beaten up bags online (consignment) and some that look brand new with a few creases. How the Gabby looks overtime comes down to the soft leather, how it’s handled and perhaps a bag organized to reinforce the sides a little.
My mind was set on eventual resale, so I didn’t enjoy the bags as much as I should have.
Best of luck!

Thank you for your opinion! I'm also thinking if I should sell it before it gets too saggy for my preference. If it is the eventual fate of this bag, then I rather pull out sooner than later [emoji848]

It seems to me if one used any chanel purse 3-4 times a week for a year or two it would not be a forever purse. It would end getting scratched, worn, floppy, and whatever else happens to bags over time.

One has to consider if a well worn gabby may be quite stylish. The look of it over time comes with use.

Just talking out loud. I told my wife this is an every day bag. Use it carefree. It won't last and just enjoy it like a cheaper bag. I sometimes get sick of chanel purses spending 99% of their time in a closet.

Wholeheartedly agree.

The small gabrielle . Just carries essential. Its like a step up if u need more space than woc.
Maybe a medium or large may suit ur need for an everyday bag.

personally the best size for a everyday bag for me is the reissue 227(i like the leather it has more give than d caviar) -it has different compartments. - like the back part i can put some folded forms/papers that wont get mixed with my wallet and makeup etc. And the flap opening is nice so that u wont be digging and feeling for ur stuff that i think happens with d hobo.

The small gabrielle has so many possibilities. It can be an evening bag. Crossbody. A cute backpack. They said a fanny pack - which im still figuring out.

I’m in the market for a cross body. Im tall, is Gabrielle the only bag that will look good as a crossbody?

Do you think you would have the same issue with the smaller size Gabrielle as there is less bag to sag? Just wondering what you think as I’ve been thinking about a Gabrielle as my next Chanel but I can’t seem to convince myself to pull the trigger. I was initially thinking of the medium size but maybe the small maybe better [emoji848]

I got the small one for a month ,and I don't think it will sag because the limited amount of the soft aged calfskin leather . and it is well stretched .
I love mine so much . It is very versatile bag and not everybody has it. And the small looks really good when worn.
Just try it out and see how u feel about it..

Thanks MahaM, that’s really helpful.

I definitely need to go and try a Gaby in person and see how I feel. The more I see the smaller size the more I love it. Only thing is that I was considering a Gaby for a more casual bag that I could fit more in that my 226 reissue so I’m not sure if the small will work for that.

Yeah..the small fits just a little more than the mini.
