The ❤Gabrielle❤ Bag: It's a HIT!!

It seems to me if one used any chanel purse 3-4 times a week for a year or two it would not be a forever purse. It would end getting scratched, worn, floppy, and whatever else happens to bags over time.

One has to consider if a well worn gabby may be quite stylish. The look of it over time comes with use.

Just talking out loud. I told my wife this is an every day bag. Use it carefree. It won't last and just enjoy it like a cheaper bag. I sometimes get sick of chanel purses spending 99% of their time in a closet.

I don't meant for my bag to be sitting in the closet of course but it is just my personal preference for my bags to remain structured as I like boxy bags rather than slouchy bags. Some bags, due to the way they are constructed and how they are meant to be worn over time, do remain more or less structured like the Hermes Kelly sellier.

Scratches and wear and tear on my bags due to regular use are fine, I just don't think I can carry off the style / look / vibe should my Gabrielle bag become too slouchy over time. I definitely love how it looks now tho and am using it frequently. I can't put down this bag and find myself want to reach for it often.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Do you think you would have the same issue with the smaller size Gabrielle as there is less bag to sag? Just wondering what you think as I’ve been thinking about a Gabrielle as my next Chanel but I can’t seem to convince myself to pull the trigger. I was initially thinking of the medium size but maybe the small maybe better [emoji848]

I think the small Gabby holds its structure and shape better. The small Gabbys I’ve seen that are several months old look brand new.
I reeeeeeallllllly like the Gabrielle bags. I bought another medium around December of last year, but it had bad stitching. I returned it and decided the fates were telling me it wasn’t for me.
The small is very cute, but tiny. The medium is an awesome size, but it will smoosh a little. Don’t let the eventual creasing turn you off, unless you really don’t like that look.
Best of luck!j

Thank you, I definitely just need to go and have a look for myself and try the various sizes on.

I’m finding it so hard to find a shoulder/hobo bag that I truly like, I really like the Gabrielle but I’m just not 100% sold yet. First world problems eh!? Haha

Haha! I know, first world problems. Well, at least we can exclaim a bag choice is a problem. I know women (I’m related to) who married beyond wealthy (ugh! billions) or made $$$$ on their own and they would just get every size- no problem.
:wtf: :whut::facepalm:
Not my reality!!!!!! But, I must admit it is fun shopping with them. I live vicariously through them. :yahoo:My cousin hasn’t looked at a pricetag in years.
Try on the different sizes and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with the right one. Happy shopping! :hugs:

It would be fun to shop without having to worry about that wouldn’t it!? Though I like the satisfaction of knowing the purse I’ve bought I worked hard for and earned it. Wouldn’t complain if I didn’t have to worry though  !!

Hi, I have the Gabrielle backpack and I LOVE it! :hbeat: After seeing Pearlicious02's small hobo, I am so tempted to get it too! :girlsigh:

The chains are not heavy at all and the mixed metal is so cool! The aged calfskin holds pretty well - there are some creases due to the drawstring design. The hard base is useful as it keeps the shape of the bag but scuff marks are quite visible if you look close. But it does not bother me that much due to the whole "rugged" look of the bag.

I intentionally made one of the chains longer than the other and DIY some stoppers (using buttons and elastic bands) to prevent the chains from moving when I carry it using one side of the straps. I use the longer chain to carry crossbody and the shorter one for when I want to sling it on one side. Maybe some pictures will help:

I got it! My store only got one of this kind in the medium size and they kept it on hold for me, until I was able to pick it up yesterday. I'm so happy! I was debating getting a classic black, but I have too many black bags as it is and couldn't get myself to like the 'wrinkled leather' look. I also love the tweeds, but they don't fit into my lifestyle, so here is my very own multicolored Gabrielle. Thanks for letting me share.

You can see the "button" in GHW and SHW and the slit/hole on the leather strap? I suppose you could detach it and separate it, thus making the chain change from a loop-form into a long chain, with both the leather part at the ends. Then you could just pull the strap to release it from the metal ring where it supposed to be sat on. Do you get it? So sorry I can't provide you with the pics from my own Gabby, as I don't want to manipulate the leather part as it could leave a mark/got somewhat loose on the slit part. Hope that helps
