Wait for the M in black or some dark colour because even if the small size looks good for you, you will not stop thinking about the medium size and the small will just be a waste of money. I am scared to buy a crossbody bag in light colours.
I have the M in rainbow calf skin and the size is perfect becuase it fits everything I need so I can use it. I am only an inch less than 5 ft. Tall.
I have small bags that can’t even fit my phone or just fits my phone and so if you have in this size already, then don’t get another one.

Am absolutely conflicted right now. I've been eyeing the medium gabrielle as it can fit so much and complements the rest of my collection very well - I really don't need another small bag - I have a square mini, M/L, Lady dior in small, medium diorama, celine trio and limited larger bags especially those that can fit a water bottle which is my bare minimum size requirement for a work bag (for luxe bags I have a speedy 25 and celine trapeze which can fit this category but the trapeze isn't quite as carefree).

Am travelling right now and they unfortunately don't have the medium in dark colours (they dont have the navy/black this season) - just the beige/black and full blue which I'm not a fan of. They however have this GORGEOUS seasonal "wet look" black small sized gabrielle. The small also fits my petite frame better but the rational choice may be to get the medium / wait out for a full black medium - but I won't be able to get it tax free (and already missed biting the bullet before the price increase).

Am extremely torn! The small black wet look is absolutely gorgeous. What do you ladies advise?

The small Black suits your frame so nicely. I would get the Gabrielle in the black IMHO

Conflicted!! The colour is gorgeous as well - the washed soaked effect. The SA said this will be available in Medium, just that the stocks hasn't come in in the city I'm in and it won't restock before I leave!

Thank you - that is great advice. I'm 5" 2 - good to know a fellow petite doesn't find the medium overwhelming! I do feel that the beige looks less "overwhelming" on my frame than the navy though. Two toned is classic chanel! Am half considering the beige..

I love the wet look black on you but I think the medium is actually a great size for you especially considering what your purse collection looks like. I actually think the beige stands out more because of the two tone contrast vs if it was all black.

I agree with previous posters that if you are already set on medium, get the medium. I'm not sure where you live but can you get the medium beige and then do an even exchange for the black at your home state or location when it's available ? Or if you live in the states but not NY you can buy from bergdorf goodman tax free. In Michigan, since there's no Bloomingdale's, I can purchase from any Bloomingdale's out of state for tax free.

I have a medium beige and it’s holding up fine. No color transfer and I wear it with black clothing! I do spray it with Collonil spray before use though and my SA recommend me not to store it in the black dust bag it came with.

Recently I got the small hobo Gabrielle ( Black) I chose it because it looked much better on me and I think it won’t sag in the middle as the medium one . Plus , I didn’t want it as a work bag.

I used my small Gabrielle bag few times, it is a small bag that fits little more then mini rectangular but I loved it ! It’s edgy and looks great when worn .

But I need to mention that the chains are kind bothersome and if I had the medium as work bag it will be really annoying to me.
So, I don’t think the Gabrielle hobo (medium) is not a good choice for a work bag but a better choice for a daily bag .
That’s what I think ...

So the craziest thing happened. After the dilemma, I decided the rational choice would be to get the medium. I was still considering the beige as I do love the colour (classic Chanel combination!). I found myself at another mall with another Chanel boutique and told my family to go ahead to get a table for lunch whilst I took a peek at Chanel - not expecting to buy anything but just to check out the stock..and turned out they had the medium in navy/black from last season in stock. It was fate. Am now a member of the Gabrielle club (kicking myself for getting yet another bag though....!)

Thanks for the advice, it helped a lot! I'm from Singapore and unfortunately they don't accept returns in this part of the world particularly not for items purchased abroad; black/black is on waitlist I've heard either way!

Decided on the medium in the end when you say middle sagging, do you mean the top or bottom? The chains are actually why I love the bag so much - its so cool and chic! Shall see how I get on with it over time - have you gotten more used to the chains over time? Still love the silhouette of the small on me, perhaps down the road...

Decided on the medium in the end when you say middle sagging, do you mean the top or bottom? The chains are actually why I love the bag so much - its so cool and chic! I just had my bag for a week and used it several time ,I'm so in love with it but seems I need to get used to the hassle of the chains.
What made me fall in love with the Gabrielle is the different colors of the chains which for me gave it the " wow factor " !
I am enjoying my Gabrielle Hobo but still want the Gabrielle Backpack in black ( my first Chanel love that made me consider Chanel bags).
