PP, IMHO it's a keeper. It's not that easy to find a shawl that says a little something but isn't the star of the show. You can get a plume or other solid color to be sure, but it's fun to have something a bit 'more' but still subtle. Your pic with the Chanel jacket makes my case perfectly. Gorgeous. I've got the grey cws on my radar for this very reason, and I'm not even a huge fan of the design, but I quite like the 'etching' feel of it in this iteration. Just one girl's opinion.

A very stylish girl at that. Thank you! [emoji8]

It's GORGEOUS!! I have colorway 09, and I'm considering getting this one, too.
Thanks Hermes nutty nut! Please come be my twin!! :happydance:
Thank you so much for the reply and the pictures. I was talking about the other shawl with the blue background, but your photos are making me re-think the whole thing. It really looks great on you!

I will check the Panthera shawl out again next time I am at the boutique. I just started buying CSGM's at the June sale in Beverly Hills. Oh my gosh... what a slippery slope! I blame this forum for even looking in that section. I bought quite a few at the sale thinking I would never pay full price for one at the store, but boy was I wrong!

For this season I bought the Dallet 07, which is my favorite shawl so far. (I am the one who recommended trying on that shawl with red lipstick, which is the only way I can wear it without looking washed out). I am still waiting to see the same shawl in grey, while also looking forward to Chasse en Inde. Since I am new to the whole cashmere thing I am still buying older designs as well as the new Fall 2016. All of the wonderful pictures here have been a huge help.... (though I doubt my husband would agree with me!)
You are more than welcome lucyfan1! I am sure you will make the right decision about the Panthera shawl, and be forewarned...jumping down the CSGM rabbit hole is very dangerous indeed!!

So here are a few pics of my two, just to show the colours (I am no supermodel so please forgive the poses!!!!). I have put up two of the Dallet in 07 just to show how the coloured edge really makes a difference and gives it some va-va-voom.
By the way, when I was in Bordeaux buying the Mors I asked the SA if it is true that the cashmeres are finer this year, as I had read here. She said that the fabric is the same but that the finishing products that they use are different as some are no longer legal to use. Apparently this makes the fabric feel different.

These both look beautiful on you! But I'm so sorry to hear that your Mors snagged... on your very first day with it! Such a shame. :amazed: Hopefully you will be able to hide the snag when you tie the CSGM.

My souvenir from the New York meet up arrived. C'est la fete in red. It's not labeled rouge h but as you can see from the photo with my bracelet its rouge h. The best photo for color accuracy is the last one with my Chanel jacket. What does everyone think? DH and I differ on it. I like it because it doesn't have to be the star of the show and will mix well with my other clothing, Chanel jacket as a prime example. DH thinks why spend a lot of money on something that isn't the star of the show? I see his point. But I like it. Reds that work for me are difficult to find. I think I'll reach for this one a lot. I know many of us were excited for this design and then felt let down to discover it was an etching, so I'd love to hear people's honest opinions about It. I think I'm keeping mine. Special thanks to bed head for her inspiration and encouragement.

I think it's wonderful, PbP. Not all H scarves have to "pop." imo, red is a neutral, and I can see this working beautifully with black (of course, I wear a lot of black, so naturally that's the first color I'd think of!) but I can also see it with a whole range of other neutrals, and even a few vivid colors, if you have any in your wardrobe.
Yup... this one's a keeper!

Thank you ElainePG. Just bad luck! It's right in the middle when it hangs down cowboy - style. Hey-ho, I guess at the end of a day it's a scarf and not an arm or a leg....[emoji5][emoji5]

somewhere in the forum there is a very detailed description on how to fix a large pull/snag in a CGSM, as long as the thread is not broken.I remember admiring the patience and dexterity of the poster who took beautiful and clear pictures in the process....I can't find it.

Thank you MMC. I did read it but I don't have the courage. If I made it worse I would have just wasted £750!!!!! I remember thinking the lady was very brave indeed. I have an old cashmere shawl by another good make that I bought for a snip and that hasn't snagged ever. Typical!!! [emoji38][emoji38]

I can see the dilemma. If the snag is bad, there isn't much to lose, but if it isn't very visible, then I guess you're better off leaving it. :)

I think I will take it on my travels in a few weeks then make a special day - trip to my H store and ask them to send it to Paris. Even just gently moving the fabric around the other day as per the recommendations in the mending thread has made it look like it has two holes (think it's just distorted warp and weave). Apparently it takes about six weeks. I can do a bit dressmaking but I obviously don't have MrsOwen's finesse and am too terrified to try any more!! [emoji3][emoji3]
