My souvenir from the New York meet up arrived. C'est la fete in red. It's not labeled rouge h but as you can see from the photo with my bracelet its rouge h. The best photo for color accuracy is the last one with my Chanel jacket. What does everyone think? DH and I differ on it. I like it because it doesn't have to be the star of the show and will mix well with my other clothing, Chanel jacket as a prime example. DH thinks why spend a lot of money on something that isn't the star of the show? I see his point. But I like it. Reds that work for me are difficult to find. I think I'll reach for this one a lot. I know many of us were excited for this design and then felt let down to discover it was an etching, so I'd love to hear people's honest opinions about It. I think I'm keeping mine. Special thanks to bed head for her inspiration and encouragement.

I love it. My DH had the same reaction when I bought the ex-libris CGSM in full black. One can hardly see the pattern :)
I think this could be a workhorse, great to brighten up a simple full black outfit (I don't know if you use a lot of these, I do), or as a shawl to throw on your shoulder with a LBD.
I see it well even with a T-shirt and jeans.

If you like the design, I think the right red alone makes it worthwhile.

Thank you. I wondered if they maybe sprayed it with a light sizing spray when it was finished. I notice that the Mors is plumping up more each wear and wondered if losing the "size" could have something to do with it.
I haven't bought a shawl in a while, time to shop for fall! So the new shawls feel even more different now than when they changed to 70% cashmere?

I think it is stunning and can't see why it wouldn't be the star of the show. I am sure that its colour shines against neutrals and, if worn as a shawl, the design will speak for itself.

These two are my first venture into the shawls QuelleFromage so I am afraid I have no knowledge of how they were before. I had read others' comments so thought I would ask when I was in the store. Please could you say what the fibre composition used to be?

Personally, I like this scarf on you. And it will be great with black, navy or gray. All colors I know you wear.
It seems to read as a neutral red, rather than a bright red, which I like.
I do understand your DHs comment though- my DH also prefers the scarf to "pop".

This looks beautiful on you. Maybe not the star of the show but certainly a very important supporting role ;)
It's a keeper and will be so easy to wear with so many things.

Thanks so much. I have never seen that colorway of ex libris. Can you share a photo? I wear a lot of black and other neutrals. I think I'll wear this exactly as you describe. Sounds like we have similar taste.

I do like the pattern, especially the ropes and chains and stars. I don't mind the skeleton. I have come full circle with this shawll. Now that I see it, I don't think I would have bought it if it was bright and colorful. It would have been overwhelming with the giant skeleton in the middle.

I think it is stunning and can't see why it wouldn't be the star of the show. I am sure that its colour shines against neutrals and, if worn as a shawl, the design will speak for itself.

I don't usually think to wear my shawls as shawls but I tried it. You are so right. It's striking as a shawl over the shoulders. Thanks for the idea.

Thank you. Men like color that pops don't they? They are such simple creatures. Excluding our male silkie friends of course.

I love it on you and with your colors. It is a wonderful red. I am pretty conservative, though so it doesn't have to pop for me. I like that you can't see the skeleton

Thanks. I think I'm coming to the realization that in my shawls I don't like too much of a pop. In a smaller scarf especially for warmer weather sure. A pop is fun. But I favor more subtle shawls that I can mix with my other winter clothes. My other purchase this season was the subtle blue colorway 05 of Mors. I love the Zenobie shawl on others but when I tried it myself it didn't quite seems right on me. And not just for the colors but for the complexity of the design as well. I am glad they give us a variety of options.
