what you said is exactly right regarding the scarves online! She stated if it's available on the website she can get it for me. This new rule is depressing because she had transferred so many scarves in the past for me! Such a bummer!
Thanks for clarifying!

Ladies, ladies, I had another unpleasant thought. If stock's lower in boutiques and more people are ordering at h.com (I order online a lot myself) and returning what they don't want, doesn't that mean there will be more "unfresh" stock returned to H and that brings down the value of the neighborhood a bit, so to speak? When I have any doubt of what I order I have it shipped to my boutique so I can see it there and deal with it right away. Well actually I think I've only ever returned a piece of china that was transferred for me, and everything I ordered through H.com I kept. But my point is, if customers have to order through the website and return after trying on at home because there isn't the opportunity to try on boutique stock under the supervision of an SA, hmm,,, maybe I'm just being overly-concerned. This has always been the case for those who don't live within access of a boutique anyway... Well, thanks for letting me stew on about it!

Does unfresh mean someone else wore it and you were sent a leftover? Or does unfresh mean "older" stock of maybe a season or two earlier? I think their staff would be charged with restocking only pristine items. That goes with the assumed quality of the label: this is what we're paying for, a pristine item. Older stock in terms of past seasons can be fun to see if it appears in cws not on the web site. For that reason it can be a pleasant surprise.

By unfresh I meant, something someone has tried at home and possibly not been in "boutique-ready" condition - the try-er-on that is. Don't wanna go TMI on it here ;) But imagining snags or something that causes the item to not be pristine and factory-fresh as we expect. I don't want to be a doomsday sooth here, so I'll just drop the topic!

Yet another reason to carefully check each item before taking it home. If anyone finds a white dog hair on their next scarf purchase at a NY/NJ boutique I AM SO SORRY in advance! Kidding!

Interesting info Mrs Owen. I think my boutique is very by the book so to speak and won't compromise on the rules at all. Which is probably why I have regarded them as less helpful than some of the others stores.they will not show me the book. I have had to do a charge send recently too.

Which brings me to the next topic. I received mors a la conetable 01. I don't know where to start.

Here is 01:

I am playing with it trying to figure out how to work with it. One side is beautiful blues and greens with beige and the other completely neutral in grey black and off white.

Here is 01 versus 05 versus cavalleria d'etriers. ImageUploadedByPurseForum1470090284.267216.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1470090292.683761.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1470090301.101380.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1470090312.035019.jpg

Here is one tied with a mix of the colors.

I'm totally confused. 05 is definitely easy to wear. 01 is more dramatic. But I'm feeling a bit extravagant to keep them both.

Btw the return policy has not changed on charge send orders. Store credit only. Which doesn't bother me as I'm sure I'll use it.
I like this one on you very much. The other one looks maybe a bit too similar to Cavalleria d'etriers...

I was just told that they are no longer allowed to transfer another store's stock into their store to sell to clients. If the item is available from the website's inventory, they can transfer that in without pre purchase but if it's only in another store, you have to do a charge send. That's probably what your SA was referring to. It's not necessarily more complicated but expensive if you don't like the item when it arrives as they haven't changed the return policy to go with the new transfer rules!
Oh God! Just when I thought H could not be any more difficult! PLEASE don't tell me that will charge you for shipping on top of it...Luxury stores charging for shipping is such a pet peeve of mine haha.
I have not run into this yet as I usually have found what I'm looking for in the store [or I've just bought online in some cases] but I liked knowing that the option for transfers was there JUST IN CASE. I don't really want to pay for something that I haven't seen yet if it cannot be returned for a full refund. I would likely use the store credit anyway but it's the principle.
Slightly off topic but I thought I would compare an experience I had today with another luxury store and how they do things THE RIGHT WAY.
I was looking for a basic long silver chain for a pendant I got in Venice and I saw one on Tiffany's website that I liked. I emailed my SA there [who, granted, I've been working with for years] and she responded within an hour. She said her store doesn't have it in stock but other stores in the area do so she can either get it transferred in for me or ship to my home, for free. No issues, no waiting days or weeks for a call/email, just wonderful customer service that keeps me loyal to her even though she switched to a location downtown [i.e. further from my house]. All for an item that costs about half of what a typical H scarf costs. This is how you keep customers loyal.

This looks lovely with your black [I assume Chanel] suit jacket! I like how it can be used for 2 completely different looks as well.

Oh no, I love this Mors cw, too! Thank you for sharing cw 01. I think your 2 CGSMs (01 and 05) have swayed me to forego silks this season. I won't be surprised if you keep both -- they're equally gorgeous!

I like 01 on you.

Thanks ladies and gents. I'm going to sleep on it. After playing around a bit with 01 I have found that I can create some cool looks. I wish I could take decent photos. Making a long ruffled look is quite nice. I'm leaning toward keeping both. 01 is dramatic with plain jackets and sweaters and 05 is so neutral that it works with some of my otherwise busy jackets in a way that even cavalleria d'etriers doesn't.
Now I need to avoid seeing the red purple colorway or pray that it's terrible, because I really shouldn't have three colorways of the same cashmere.

Bostonjetset I hear you about good stress free service. It shouldn't have to be this way. Ok I get it about Birkins but scarves shouldn't be stressful. [emoji35]
