ABdM in 02 (03 didn't work for me, only 2 corners looked OK, but I have a back-up plan for my second 90 and perhaps a 70 too)

I think these pics make the scarf look as though there is more royal purple than there is, all purples of this scarf are more towards the violet spectrum of purple (not quite as violet as on h.com though) and the contrast hem is straight blue and not purple at all.

I absolutely love this scarf, design and colours. I guess this design/cw is prob going to be a love or hate thing. I have a few scarlet dresses this will also look great with, also bronze, red-browns, aubergine, royal blue and burgundy clothes too. Very vibrant and amazing from every angle. (How many violet scarves does H do, I can't remember?) Those that are interested in violet and/or scarlet must try it on!!!

With mid-purple tweed skirt and Amethyst croc (better IRL)

Not a great full shot as I seem to have left the shocking-red sky out, but you get the picture (no pun intended ;) )

Thanks for posting these photos, papertiger. The way to coordinate it with your outfits is genius. This is indeed a gorgeous cw.

I'm a bit worried about what you said about the cw 03. Is it just too plain that makes it not so versatile in your opinion? My plan now is to get 03 for sure until I read your comment, and one other light color (possibly 10), and one strong color (still debating between 07 and 09). I've noticed that with the lighter color ones (08 and 10) you often are left with a big plain beige corner when tied. I wonder if that's the same issue you have with 03? If that's the case, I might have to rethink about my plan. I don't have that many neutral scarf so have one somewhat plain beige is perfect, but 2 with the same design seems a bit impractical. 03 remains unseen but I have it reserved at one store that I can pick up next week, but I don't want to end up giving up other options but am stuck with 03. Would you mind posting photos of 03? That would really help a lot. TIA

I would gladly post the 03 but I bought online to collect at the store. I knew pretty quickly it wasn't coming home with me and went straight back once held up to me (though the SA looked exquisite in it ha ha).

The 03 cw is gorgeous as a picture, and this would be the one I'd pick to hang on my wall. As you say the beige corner was not good but the shade of straight, clear-orange was not great on me either (I'm better in tertiary colours including red-orange and orange-yellow). On the more saturated and darker cws the painterly look to the sky and lake is much more visible and it was this definite mottling I missed on the 03, plus the contrasts between light and dark are a bit high for me (I have some sharp and strong features that seem to need need drama :coolio: so safe scarves are not safe on me, although my colouring is all mid level - which is why strong blk/white scarves aren't great on me unless the pattern is very small or heathery). You may have quite different colouring so it may look glorious. I urge you to try it on before dismissing it.

I hope that makes sense. The design is certainly gorgeous enough to buy multiples as each cw turns the vibe of the design into something completely different. I haven't tried them all on yet and I haven't finished looking ;)

I know I'm being silly here but i can't help jumping in front of the mirror to try.... I have to confess that sometimes I do try the scarves on my head in boutique to decide whether I'll get it, but it's been humid and hot recently so I didn't do so. Now I learn that most people probably don't wear it on the head, but I actually like wearing it this way. ;) And I find it shows whether a scarf works with my skintone more easily and help me decide when trying in the boutique (because your hair is mostly covered so it doesn't get to balance the colors that much as when you wear the scarf around the neck).

It's also pretty worn on the head, isn't it? Quite summery! Sorry... I'm just being mischievous here.. :p

Really did laugh out loud..I was one of those fussing about the head scarf pose. :)

I've noticed the same thing with my boutique- I provided my wish list to my SA, and half the items are not even in their order book- a couple of designs weren't even ordered in any colorway. This is the first season I have ever run across this. Seeing that you noticed the same thing, I wonder if all the boutiques have reduced their scarf and shawl orders?

Same here. Three scarves I have asked my SA for are not coming into the store. She is usually really good at getting items transferred for me but she said something about it being different this season. I don't remember exactly what she said but she made it sound like transferring was not going to be as easy as it was in the past. If anyone sees Kachinas in the red/blue/violet color way 32 pop up online or in their boutique, can you please let me know? Thanks!

This happens to me frequently, my boutique doesn't do well with some of my favorite colors-greens specifically so whenever I want a CW that's predominately green we have to search for it. I do get to see the book which I just learned they're not supposed to show clients-oops and have seen that they skip some colors completely and perhaps whole designs though I didn't know the list well enough to say for sure. Each store manages their own inventory and I assume the SM orders what he/she thinks they have the best chance at selling.

I was just told that they are no longer allowed to transfer another store's stock into their store to sell to clients. If the item is available from the website's inventory, they can transfer that in without pre purchase but if it's only in another store, you have to do a charge send. That's probably what your SA was referring to. It's not necessarily more complicated but expensive if you don't like the item when it arrives as they haven't changed the return policy to go with the new transfer rules!

what you said is exactly right regarding the scarves online! She stated if it's available on the website she can get it for me. This new rule is depressing because she had transferred so many scarves in the past for me! Such a bummer!
Thanks for clarifying!

Thank you so much papertiger. This is really helpful. Orange is certainly a tricky color. I wear most orange well but definitely not all. The soft orange from Mystique Phoenix Coloriage is good, but the flamingo party tatouge is no no good. I think I understand what you mean by the sharp contrast. Among all the color ways this one might have the strongest, sharpest character with beige background and black plants. Like you I'm also thinking about hanging one of the CWs on the wall. I just picked up H hanging system and am quite excited about it (apparently the hanging system is only available in winter according to my SA). I really appreciate your informative description, though I'm not sure if that's really a good news for my wallet. Now 02 is back on my list - I did try this in the store and quite liked it, and your photos reminded me how interesting it is with that bronzy touch. 03 sounds very interesting but could be tricky so I can't wait to see it IRL, and 10 for sure, then either 07 or 09. Alas.... This is a tough decision!!
