Oh God! Just when I thought H could not be any more difficult! PLEASE don't tell me that will charge you for shipping on top of it...Luxury stores charging for shipping is such a pet peeve of mine haha.
I have not run into this yet as I usually have found what I'm looking for in the store [or I've just bought online in some cases] but I liked knowing that the option for transfers was there JUST IN CASE. I don't really want to pay for something that I haven't seen yet if it cannot be returned for a full refund. I would likely use the store credit anyway but it's the principle.
Slightly off topic but I thought I would compare an experience I had today with another luxury store and how they do things THE RIGHT WAY.
I was looking for a basic long silver chain for a pendant I got in Venice and I saw one on Tiffany's website that I liked. I emailed my SA there [who, granted, I've been working with for years] and she responded within an hour. She said her store doesn't have it in stock but other stores in the area do so she can either get it transferred in for me or ship to my home, for free. No issues, no waiting days or weeks for a call/email, just wonderful customer service that keeps me loyal to her even though she switched to a location downtown [i.e. further from my house]. All for an item that costs about half of what a typical H scarf costs. This is how you keep customers loyal.

This looks lovely with your black [I assume Chanel] suit jacket! I like how it can be used for 2 completely different looks as well.
I don't think there's a shipping fee for the charge sends but you must pay for the item to have it sent from the store to you or your store. Then if you don't want it, it's store credit only. That's what I consider expensive, I'm not interested in an orange savings account-there's no interest earned and I find it's easier to spend store credits impulsively.

So true. The credits are like Monopoly money. I think the shipping is highly variable. I have been charged $0, $15, or $25. And it doesn't depend on the size of the shipment. I don't mind because we don't have a store in my state so I don't pay sales tax. But free is always nice especially given the cost of these items.

HAHA. All I can think about is that old IHG savings acct commercial with the huge orange bouncing around.:p
I agree though, credits force me to buy things I may otherwise reconsider just in order to spend it.

Why am I not surprised that our store is inconsistent with this policy also?!?! HAHA
I forgot about your tax advantage though. I may start shipping all my purchases in c/o PocketbookPup. jk jk lol

[emoji23][emoji23] One of the few benefits of living in a Podunk state with no decent shopping.

no sales tax! I am so jealous. I pay 9%!!!!

Pocketbook Pup, I'm loving the first one on you dear!!!! The second one (the dark one) is too sim to your previous season shawl (which I prefer the one you already have over the new darker one) ....

MrsO, I think that I have had many store to store transfers without paying for the item in advance ~ typical H, the rules vary. :hugs:

Supposedly the rules have changed babe... H is not allowing it as easily...
I know I have recently had a few items transferred into the store (last week)... no problem. But who knows...

Thanks sweetie. I think I prefer the colorful one too. I might be really bad and keep both. My wishlist is very short this season. Now to keep it that way. [emoji23]

Hi Vigee, this is a new policy change as of just a week or two ago. It's company wide, not variable by store or SA. I used to have things brought in frequently as well but was told by the SM that it's a new rule as I asked for them to get me a pair of shoes they didn't order.

This is why I didn't know about it! I remember the days when I could SO a specific CDC ~ not any longer, sad to day.

Wow shoes too? I asked for rtw. I think I probably just got in under the wire because I didn't have to prepay. They did say something about no transfers within 30 days of store arrival. Sounds like we need roaming monthly meetups at various stores to find what we want. Sometimes I wonder if luxury shopping is worth all the trouble. [emoji15]

yup, but they've always had that rule about 30 days. When new stock comes in to a store they are not supposed to transfer it out for a 30 day waiting period. Hopefully more info will get out there as it is confusing. I got a fine jewelry transfer 3 weeks ago but then had to do a charge send for shoes last week. This week I asked for shoes and we're trying to see if the website has them to transfer to my store.

to keep this on topic of scarves, if the style and CW you want are available on the website your store can transfer it in for you to try without doing a charge send.

The eagerness to impose a store credit might be because H wants to discourage people from wearing something the day they get it and then return it the next day. It still a crummy policy.

I don't really understand the new rules, but I was told that trying to transfer anything in would be difficult if not impossible, so if I saw something I wanted on the web or during my travels, just go ahead and get it.

I wonder why they can transfer from the web but not another store? What is the purpose of having the boutique order it from the web- wouldn't it just be easier for customers to order it from the web themselves? This is the reverse of how things were in the past- they could transfer from another boutique but not from the web.
