I have polished goat? Is that the same? If so, I have not sprayed or protected my bays in anyway and she iis incredibly hard wearing, doesn't mind getting wet and best of all she's super light!!
I'm not sure if it's the same, but I emailed Mulberry and they said Collonil gel is best for it! I love how light it is as well, I actually ended up buying the GG pouch and it's so lightweight and handy! (I actually meant to edit that post with that info but completely forgot until now! :smile1:)

Ladies -

Is there a big difference in wear and tear/shape-holding between Darwin and Antique Glace'd leathers? I am wondering if it's even worth it to buy the Darwin bag I have my eye on, as it's completely squashed, and wonder if it's even possible to coax it back into shape.

Hi all

I seem to only like bags that are in bad leathers that can't go anywhere ie metallic foil on my bays and Lily, and I've just purchased a Daria in sparkle tweed... Does anyone have experience with sparkle tweed? I've got it in a powder beige so I know there may be issues With colour transfer as well. I also have the Alexa hobo in soft buffalo I think and wasnt advised on any specific care for her when I purchased?

I've ordered the collonil (?) for metallic leathers and also the lord Sheraton balm as advised by Shian at NP...

Any advice much appreciated!

Hello ladies,

Does anyone have any experience of the Deer Brown Grainy Print Leather? Does it wear well and is it high maintenance? Still a bit of a newbie so would appreciate any advice :smile1:

Hi, I thought of getting my very 1st Bayswater. Does anyone know what type of leather this is and whether its worth getting?

Would appreciate your advise! :)

It has to be the printed natural veg tan. I have the same one, and it's brand new. It's gorgeous but very stiff and deadly heavy lol It's supposed to keep shape better because of the printing process of the leather that makes it stiffer but tends to relax with time. I can't talk from experience as mine is new but it is a gorgeous bag. I would recommend you to try it on and see how you feel with it. Good luck!

Warning - Ellie is going to be brutally honest here............

SSL is basically a split leather (the hide thickness split) - basically its the equivalent of veneer rather than solid wood.

The process of tanning desiccates leather, the thinner the hide the greater the risk of drying out which invariably leads to splitting, cracking, peeling. No amount of polish/moisure from above will resolve this because it is the hide surface moving off the thinner membrane.

Im sorry to be blunt but to say I am not a fan of this leather is an understatement.

Hi Ellie, I hope you will answer me...i just joined last June and i am looking at buying a bayswater spongy pebbled leather in hot fucshia. I really like it BUT when i read your post, i am wondering if this SSL is also the same kind of leather as the spongy peebled leather in hot fucshia that i wanted to buy? I appreciate your reply as i have very limited time to decide to buy the bag or not. Thanks in advance

hello ladies hoping for a bit of advice here, two days ago i purchased a pink champagne alexa clutch from ebay for £300 ? same price seller bought it for..(paid outside of ebay via paypal GIFT) the bag is authentic as receipt is included from york outlet! my problem however is the bag is covered in patches of silver like betsy has shown in her pictures! NO MENTION OF THIS BY SELLER AT ANY TIME! she is selling other mulberry bags so i am sure she was aware that this is not how the bag should look!!!! the bag was bought in june 12 from receipt provided so still has warranty! the seller said the bag was bnwt but there is a few scratches on the lock and i have no comeback as i paid for it as a gift!! i really love the bag apart from the marks? i know the york outlet has a few pink champagne bags do u think that they may return it and look for the same bag for me to exchange it! i know they are 50.00 more expensive now but this bag is exactly what i want? any ideas??

Does anybody know about the polished (buffalo?) leather the new black alexas will be made of?

Will is be just as slouchy or stiffer than the soft buffalo leather?

Very grateful for any information.

Thanks!

Hi Frizz - I have several Rios and I would say that is it very similar to Darwin but with a slight sheen to it - it is very durable and as long as you spay as you would the Darwin/NVT it is good to go and actually mellows gorgeously with age......I seem to recall that Naughtipidgin has a guide to the various leathers on her website, this included, so it might be worth a look!...:smile1:

I am getting the medium Lily but still doubt about which color.
Does anyone know if grainy print has issues with color transfer, also a bit worried about rain. So maybe Black will be the safest options?
