It’s here!! Oh my gosh it’s so pretty. Of course I want to start using it right away, but it really isn’t the season here in WA. Today is nice, but I want it to develop an even patina so I’ll leave it by a window for a while. Eventually I’ll be careless with it, I won’t mind some rain drops once it has a little patina protection but right now it’s definitely too delicate. I probably won’t use it until spring when the weather is nicer. How am I going to be able to wait that long??

Gorgeous!! Did you end up with the petit?

I have this bag and it's my favorite LV bag by far! Personally I like the Mcraft slide from Etsy better than the slide knot. If you do decide to go with the slide, I would recommend ordering it now so it can patina along with your bag. JMTC. Enjoy your new beauty! Hopefully you'll get a few nice days to bring it out before spring :drinks:

I spray mine and just use. I also live in cold/rain climate. You can wear it on cold days. It's beautiful

Yep! The GM would have been too big for sure, the Petit is perfect. I’m glad I did some more research, the depth of the GM would have annoyed me for sure! I grab stuff from my bag on the go all the time, having to stick my entire arm in sounds like an ordeal.
Yes, I agree. I got the petit for the same reason and it's my favorite LV bag and I have 19!

I ordered one already and it'll show up on Monday! Love that shop, I have a crossbody strap for my Pochette from them, it looks brand new even after 4 years of pretty heavy use.

But yes, tying a bow or using a slide knot sounds cumbersome!

I have Apple Garde spray, but I'm going back and forth on using it. I think vachetta looks stunning with a deep patina and I don't mind a few marks, but heavy, frequent rain leaves more than just a few. Maybe I should spray it once so I can wear it sooner, it'll develop a patina anyway.

Exactly, All my bags patina evenly sprayed. Spray does not prevent patina so I do that extra layer of protection and wear my bags, which I still wear ebene on rainy days lol. But they are to expensive to stay home

Very good point! Definitely too expensive to stay home. I know I’ll be scared to use it on rainy days for a while, but eventually I won’t care. Maybe the spray will make me feel carefree sooner!

There is a video on YouTube (can't recall her name) where she talked about getting caught in a downpour with her Noe and she showed what it looked like afterwards. The vachetta still looked good (no water spots). She didn't use spray or anything before/after if I recall correctly. I was amazed.

I used Apple Garde spray on my Noe BBs and it didn't change how the vachetta patinas. After it dries, you can't even tell it was ever sprayed. I had my Noe BB in azur for 3 years before selling it and the patina was even. Patina can be uneven even without spraying just so you know. When carrying the bag, different parts are more shaded from your body so other parts get more sun. Look at previous pictures in this thread and you will see that is true. All bags with vachetta on them will go through this cycle so if it has to be even patina every day for the bag's lifespan, it may not be the one for you.

I say that in the nicest of ways :giggle: I didn't pull mine out to double check because it would not bother me. I check for things that are glaringly obvious (defects) when I receive my bags, whether at home or in store. People seeing you out with this bag would not even notice as they'd have to get really close to your bag to examine it and even then, most people would not notice it. However, if it bothers you, then you should return it. Just know that if that bothers you, they all will (and other LV models have had more wrong with them than this):oh:
Tbh it doesn’t really bother me. And it’s true I’ve had LV bags with worse alignment. I’m definitely not going to return, Noe BBs are so cute and hard to come by these days.

I think I saw that video! There was a woman with a Noe who has three (I think) videos of how it looked new, after a year and after four-is years at least, she mentioned a downpour incident. Hers is stunning, that's the kind of patina I want mine to develop as well.

I know it won't patina completely evenly, that's what I prefer that in the long run. I'm very familiar with naked/undyed leathers, just not LV vachetta. The reason I want an even patina to begin with is that the patina itself protects the leather from the most visible marks, if you get caught in the rain with a bag with a patina it won't stain as much as a brand new one. I absolutely love variations in a well developed patina, but I just don't think it looks as good if it's gotten major wet spots very early on. That's why I want to protect it a little more now, especially since I bought it at the rainiest time of the year, haha. Once I've used it a bunch I won't be worried.
