I think I saw that video! There was a woman with a Noe who has three (I think) videos of how it looked new, after a year and after four-is years at least, she mentioned a downpour incident. Hers is stunning, that's the kind of patina I want mine to develop as well.

I know it won't patina completely evenly, that's what I prefer that in the long run. I'm very familiar with naked/undyed leathers, just not LV vachetta. The reason I want an even patina to begin with is that the patina itself protects the leather from the most visible marks, if you get caught in the rain with a bag with a patina it won't stain as much as a brand new one. I absolutely love variations in a well developed patina, but I just don't think it looks as good if it's gotten major wet spots very early on. That's why I want to protect it a little more now, especially since I bought it at the rainiest time of the year, haha. Once I've used it a bunch I won't be worried.
I saw another YT video where a different woman brings a clear shower cap (freebie from hotel) to put on the bottom part of her Noe if she gets caught in the rain. Better safe than sorry!

I was afraid to use it. After one month having this cutie sitting on the shelf , I decided to take her out to shop with me today. I used my speedy b strap instead of the original one.
I sold my Noe BB strap when I first got my bag because I prefer a Speedy B strap on it. I like the versatility of the strap. I probably use it most as shoulder wear. I just keep the middle part of the strap in my bag in case I change my mind :)

 Agreed. The speedy B strap is so versatile. I carry as shoulder wear as well w/o middle part of the strap. Such a classic bag!

Just picked this up today and scurried back home to share it here!
Introducing my newly refurbished Noe GM from the late 80s (my birth year). Took it into LV (aus) to have all the vachetta replaced. They kept most of the original hardware and the new vachetta is still stamped made in France. It cost AUD 990 and took 6 weeks, which including the price of the bag which I purchased pre loved was a fair bit less expensive than buying new here in Aus. Plus the lovely thick canvas, birth year etc. Just in case this info is helpful to you all.

Really can’t decide whether to treat the vachetta with Apple Garde or use the Patina Champ method. I know that it’s an age old q but would love any thoughts from Noe owners. I like an even patina without spots and am quite38AFA2B6-9776-4BD0-BCAF-80183AAC3A48.png0106834A-1C7A-4172-9C53-45901D1933C7.png particular but also don’t want the leather to crack. Often I see pre loved pieces with cracked vachetta - do the sprays encourage cracking? thanks for letting me share!

Wow looks brand new!! Was the date code restamped after the leather replacement? I had an all leather replacement for my petit noe and lost the date code.

I used Apple Garde on both of my Noe BB bags and they look perfect. When I sold the azur, the leather had a very slight patina, no spots, and the buyer said it looked new to them. My monogram is still new as I haven't taken it out since I bought it (replacement) in February 2020! The vachetta looks brand new even after using the Apple Garde and being in the dust bag all this time.

How soon do you apply the Apple Garde once you picked up your bag? Do you wait few weeks? If you don't mind sharing.

Here are some pictures of my newly refurbished Noe GM. I got all of the vachetta replaced and now it looks like a brand new bag, even though it's from 1998. I absolutely love it! It cost $660 and they initially quoted me $960. So I was so relieved when it turned out to be $300 cheaper than their initial quote. Took about 3 months.QNGL42IRRfuR+uhBTU56+g.jpgwG4UuBa9Rv67bqXHRfff6A.jpgOZa+9eY3TfS5VPHnyd59rw.jpgqeTJ56rJSUST3iVICddWkQ.jpg

Unfortunately, I didn't take a pic of it before, because I wish I would have. But believe me, it was trashed. The drawstring was broken in 3 different places so it got to the point where I couldn't even tie it. The vachetta on the top edge of the bag was all cracked throughout.

Wow, looks beautiful. So the inside still as is right?

Got mine from the website by accident! I was looking for another bag, but saw this one is in stock. After receiving it, I think it is cute and I will keep it(made in France !)But the canvas is thinner than the other mono bags I have. Not sure whether is it normal?
