The left matte one is calfskin.

Here’s a breakdown of the tag:

REV means revolving i.e. part of Chanel’s classic collection and is released every season

*A Number tells you the style
A92193= Chanel Quilted Boy Flap New Medium

*Y Number tells you the material and hardware
Y09939= Calfskin & Gold-Tone Metal

*The Number below the Y number tells you the color
94305= Black

The 25595548 number at the bottom is the serial number. Bags with serial numbers that start with 25 were made in 2018.

Hello! Long time lurker finally first time Chanel purchaser :) I just bought a medium boy in the caviar with the brushed gold hardware (quilted) but I walked into another Chanel boutique and saw a medium caviar in a shiny light gold / Champagne hardware in the chevron pattern.

While quilted is the more classic look I think I like the chevron pattern. I’m also worried the shiny gold will scratch up easy. This bag will be more of a Friday - Sunday bag not everyday but still I want to make sure the bag holds up will over time both in style and in terms of HW scratches. Help! Should I return the quilted and get the chevron :-/

Also note, the chevron with the shiny HW I saw in store was already pretty soft/ man-handled. Maybe because the flagship location and it’s been brought out a lot for ppl to try on? The quilted brushed gold I bought was so fresh/firm, it still had all the packaging around it. Even though they were both 27 series the quilted i bought felt much newer than the chevron I just saw yesterday.

I know this was posted months ago, but we are bag twins! Mine came from Rue cambon.
Do you find yours too dressy for day use?
I’ve used mine twice but since I hate spending the $$ and not using my bag enough, I am considering it as a day bag as well.
Pictures do not do this bag justice, it is so beautiful.

Hi, I have a caviar old medium boy bag in black with beautiful aged gold hardware - looks almost bronze. The bag is from the 2014 collection and has been used only a handful of times. What is the best place to resell? I posted on Vestaire but I think all of the "offers"are annoying - the Vestaire process is a little off-putting.

Hi, guys. I'm very new here. Would like to get advice about buying a Le Boy caviar GHW vs classic medium double flap in caviar. Which one holds its value for longer? Which one is more worth it. My problem with the medium is it's perfect for my size but the straps cannot be worn crossbody. And that's why I'm considering Le Boy. Thank you.
