Hello Chanel experts! I’m a well established Hermes junkie, but am looking to add a Boy to my collection. This would be my first Chanel bag. My local store had exactly what I am looking for - old medium boy, black caviar, antique RH hardware. I was planning to purchase the bag after an upcoming vacation, but wondering if this is something I should jump on faster? Is this a common size/color/leather that is regularly stocked or not? Really appreciate your input. Thanks!!

Black, caviar, RH gold or silver hardware is generally on most people’s boy wishlist. Most people gravitate toward black as their first boy. Because it’s coveted by most people, it can be hard to come by. Also, I’m unsure if Chanel is doing a price increase soon or if they have already done one this year. I would use this information to determine if you should buy now or later. I bought my medium boy in August 2014 but I’m unsure of the cost now.
They are both beautiful but which goes better with your wardrobe? Depending upon where you live, would you wear the white bag in winter?
I personally would not wear a white bag in winter (cold climate, winter coat) so I feel you’d get more use with the beige one.

Thank you for the response! I could use either of these bags year round. [emoji7] My biggest concerns are rain, spilled food/drinks, maybe scratches. I was wondering if one of the 2 would be slightly more resilient, or if the white color would cancel out the fact that it's caviar and more durable?
I have a white caviar flap bag and it’s been surprisingly durable but I never carry it with jeans as I’m afraid of color transfer. I also don’t use it very often since for me I feel it’s a spring summer bag. I also have a camel caviar flap and wear it all year round. The only lambskin I have is black and it’s been in the rain without any issues. For your decision does one bag call out to you more? I’d go with the one that you love. That beige color is so pretty.
I always prefer caviar with my Chanel bags. It's so much more durable & you don't have to worry! Esp. about sudden rain (I'm in FL, so that's often) or a nail scratch, etc.... I have a lambskin Chanel Boy & she's absolutely gorgeous! But I'm always so nervous to take her out

Hi Ladies! What is it mean when the tag of your boy says “REV” instead of an actual number like “17A” or “16A”. Also, does anyone happen to know the number to the medium caviar boy in black with ruthenium hardware that just came out in Feb/March 2019? If you could be so kind and share me the codes or picture of the tag, I’d appreciate it. [emoji6]
I think it means it is part of the classic collection (always offered) versus a seasonal offering.
Get the color that makes you happy and works for your lifestyle. I bought black, which makes me happy and suits my lifestyle.
