My boy is just 2 weeks old

I'm so sorry this happened to you and personally I think it's absolutely not acceptable considering the money you've paid for the bag. I really hope they can fix it, but honestly I think they should replace your bag considering that it's only two weeks old. Unfortunately, I've read several places here in the forum that the new and shinier caviar Chanel has been using on the seasonal bags for the past year or so tends to chip. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear about the chipping. Since you only used yours for 2 weeks, I think you should speak to them see if they can credit you back for a different bag. It's a quality issue, not wear and tear. I have a classic caviar for years and there's no issues with the leather. Considering the boy prices are comparable to the classics, the least they can do is to ensure the boy bags are made with quality leather. If the store doesn't give you an acceptable solution, escalate it.
My problem with this boy is the weight and the sheen. With the chipping problem you reported, I went ahead and took it back to the store.

Eh, I am so sorry this happened to your bag. You should take it back, the bag shouldn't have any quality issue when you are paying this kind of price! I am sad thinking I am going to have the similar problem with my boy:sad: Before making the purchase I asked my SA if she had heard about the leather peeling issue with the new chevron boy and she told me no, and that I have 60 days to return. I better start using this bag before it's too late. Keep us posted.

Yeah for the money paid they should hold well.. my caviar wallet I have been using daily for two years does not have peeling issue and the corners are not scuff too

I am ok with the sheen and weight and in fact I do like the bag as the overall structure is really firm and the caviar leather other than the edge do feel durable as well.. the caviar on the side of the boy seems to be of different leather as the pebbles are more shiny

My new chevron boy! I've been after a black caviar boy bag for years and I just love this one. I'm sorry to hear that some of you are having quality issues I hope that the bag wears well with it being caviar and shiny caviar is my favourite!! Also a shot of my boys together

Congrats! Your boys are gorgeous! I love this caviar boy bag too, this is exactly what I was looking for a long time so I don't want to return it yet. I Googled and it looks like the caviar peeling and chipping issue goes back to 2012 and the issue isn't just with the Boy bag, also there were some discussions about the CF and jumbo caviar. There shouldn't be any quality issue with the price we pay for Chanel bags.

I returned my chevron caviar black boy as the edges are chipped and one side is sticking out. It came brand new with plastic films and tissue paper. Loved the look but Disappointed with the quality.

Thank you! I have a caviar jumbo CF and also caviar Camillia WOC and no issues with the leather. Funnily enough, I had to return the first chevron boy I bought, not due to the leather but because it was wonky where the flap met the bag. I exchanged it in Harrods, and although they understood my concern they would not admit it was a fault only said that "the bags are hand made so no 2 bags are exactly the same". I made sure that this bag was perfect, so I would say if you're not happy with the bag try and exchange for another. I don't know about you guys but I don't pay 3.5k for a bag that isn't perfect. To be honest the recent quality concerns has put me off from buying from Chanel especially when the customer service isn't outstanding. For me I now have all the bags from Chanel on my wish list, thankfully.

I just got the So black boy bag it comes in grained calfskin and it's gorgeous but.... I have the caviar boy bag with ruthenium hardware in caviar. They look identical and I'm not sure if I should exchange it for something else. I have been told
The so black collection is rare and hard to get your hands on. Should I keep or exchange? The leather in the so black is way softer than caviar and the hardware seems like it would
Scratch easier than the ruthenium hardware.
