Thanks a bunch for this! Infact i called the Paris ave montaigne store and asked for the "Executive Cerf Tote"-- she was a tad confused but then i gave her the style code and she looked it up. Said there were none in all of Paris
Anyways, does one need to ask for the calfskin vs deerskin? Or is the calfskin a default leather they use now? Would you have the entire code for the calfskin one?
Sorry for so many qs. Other Chanel flaps have so much info available on them. Hard to get this info + rarely ever see this bag in the boutique near my house (though its a v small boutique i must say).
It's no problem ... It's what these forums are for [emoji87]. I did quite a lot of research into the bag before purchasing and asking different SA's so I will share info I know (not meaning it is 100% accurate as a lot seems to vary about this bag as you are saying!)
When I bought my bag around 3 weeks ago, I was told by 2 different SAs that chanel was probably not making this as a classic piece anymore, maybe only a seasonal... if at all, so when I purchased mine it was one of the last ones in london so I had to hunt hard lol! When I asked many of the SAs about the leather they didn't really seem to know what I was on about when I was saying I wanted the newer leather... Which wasn't helpful! But from reading on here apparently the ones starting with 00V is a classic with the deerskin... On the tag mine was a 15A (May of been B or C but can't remember) and apparently that differentiates the leathers ... My code was A15206 which shows it is a classic because of its size and the inside lining. I only know this because after buying mine I went to another boutique and checked out another cerf tote I actually had on reserve ...
But this was a 'seasonal' one because the tag was 14C but the code was like A33226 or something and the inside lining was grey and not black ... Also the bag was bigger in size (a lot bulkier and heavier I thought). I wasn't told it was a seasonal one on the phone when I reserved it but when I took my newly purchased classic in, I compared the two and the SA agreed it was a different bag... But I asked about the leather and he said they were both calfskin. I also rang the chanel bond street store and got her to look up my bag using the authenticity code and she confirmed it was the new leather.... So I coverd all angles, lol
As far as I am aware they don't make it in the original leather anymore ... But again someone please correct me if this is wrong!
The tricky part is.. It seems all SAs do not share the same knowledge so I was getting very mixed messaged. I think you need someone who has been there a long time and seen this bag transition through different stages and leathers for them to know what you're on about! Pretty annoying really.
