The Borough Bag

I was actually thinking of returning one of the large soft borough bags that I got. I got a medium size one and the magnets don't stay securely closed. Also, I notice the large soft borough doesn't collapse as much as the pebbled version when trying to carry over the shoulder. Your only choice is to carry it on your arm. It's a great style, but I like the slouchier version of the pebbled version.

Sorry about your disappointment and the corner wear.
May I ask which saffiano you have? I considered brindle
During SAS but gt pebbled black instead....now I was keeping my eyes open for saffiano at the outlets or on FOS.

That sounds horrible! Do you have any photos of the damage you could post?

Just the other night I noticed the handle of my mini pebbled Borough seemed to be worn. It looked flat instead of pebbled. I bought it in Dec. and have not carried it often. I also don't use the handles often. I wonder if I should see if it can be repaired.

I don't know what the name of the saffiano is, it is the brick coloured one.

Here are some pictures. The Saffiano is also opening up at the "stitching" which I see is more of a gluing issue. My saffiano laptop case also shows signs of the glued corners opening up.

The sun glare isn't allow the issues to be fully exposed, but i tried my best. Notice the camel mini borough fade away. That's harsh for a 1 time use.

The other 2 bags pictured here have probably been used 10 times each.

Edit: pics are not uploading. I will try again later.

About the corner wear issue- I've noticed that my iris saffiano medium borough is a little more prone to corner wear (I'm extremely cautious about not rubbing against anything when I wear it, which does detract a little from the joy of wearing it).

My oxblood pebbled borough (also medium) has held up great, however. No corner wear, no handle wear. It looks like the day I bought it though slightly slouchier, and I haven't babied that bag one bit. In fact, I used it as a work bag for at least several weeks at a time... and it's still looking good.

Wear resistance seems to vary from bag to bag with these.

Here are the photos

Petaluma, CA had 2 on Wed, both were in good condition. Napa had at least one last weekend. If they search on the computer ask them if they could search the entire country not just their local area, that is if they didn't do that the first time. Good luck!
Thanks for the tip. I had another SA search the entire country today and I ordered through charge send!!! Can't wait for it to arrive next week. Fingers crossed it will have no scuffs or wear!

If I were to get another Borough bag I'd like to have a pebbled leather one. I like a soft bag and pebbled leather holds up so well.

I just ordered a mini B in black pebbled leather from Ebay! The pics looked good and it said new with tags from the outlet ! The seller has a good record, I hope my bag is in good condition ! I haven't had any luck finding a mini black at my outlet. I did buy a nice Chambray mini inOctober, use it all the time...no wear issues! I also just ordered the mini Boarskin colorblock one from FOS ...Just gonna hope both bags dont have any issues! At least I can return the FOS one , if I need too!

Good luck...too bad you didn't find one at an outlet near you. My outlets have had up to 4 out on the shelf for a few weeks now.

Here's a colorblocked medium Borough that took me by surprise when I found it at my local outlet recently.

This is a medium colorblock in the usual retro glove-tanned leather, but in Olive Grey / Saffron (32502). I don't recall seeing this on the U.S. Coach website - the only official information I can find for it is at Coach's Singapore website, here. It may have been an Asia-only bag.

I've included a Bleecker Sport Mini Duffle in Saffron (32281) as a color comparison. The saffron on the Borough is perhaps a tiny bit lighter than on the duffle. The "olive grey" top doesn't seem to photograph well, but it's an olive green that can look grey or brown depending on the lighting.

Don't know if this version of the colorblocked Borough has been posted before - if it has, then never mind me. :smile1: Thought it might be of interest.
