I am interested in the weight difference between my regular size zippy in comparison to yours. Mine is black polished goat and weighs in the 2 1/2 pound range? Do you think the difference in the leathers accounts for the half pound difference? It would seem it does but I am surprised it makes that much difference.

Did you weigh your with the strap included?
Also, I asked post office to weigh mine. So, maybe different scale callibration/type?

I bet it's the leather. NVT is thicker than goat and as the regular Zippy B is quite big... After you telled me the weight of you bag, Izzy, I guessed that the oak version would weight around 1,3kg (sorry I'm thinking in this meassurements)... I have two other bags of this size (one has leather like NVT, the other is calf) and they weight around 1,3 kg, too. [emoji4]

I do weigh mine with the strap included because we carry that as well. I will see if they will do that for me even though the scale I use is not an automatic scale but one some what like a doctor's scale. I'll let you know as soon as I get it weighed.

After a discussion with remailsilly and ludmilla in regard to the weight of the double zip, and weighing mine on my scales at just at 2 1/2 pounds, it was time I had mine officially weighed to see the true weight of the bag. Today I remembered to take it to the UPS store for an accurate weight. On their scales with the shoulder strap included mine weighed in at just barely under 3 pounds. So, my scales are a bit light! The leather of my bag is polished goat. Due to shoulder and back pain I stay away from bags weighing over 2 1/2 pounds. Would I purchase it again if I realized the weight? Yes, I would because it is just an awesome bag.

That's so kind of you to get your bag weighted at UPS. As you know, I have similar back issues like you. I definitely understand, that you would buy the bag although it weights more than you want to carry. I'm so very tempted to buy this bag, too. I guess, sometimes we have to listen to our heart, not our back. [emoji4]
