Beautiful tote! Congrats. I'm a Mulberry noob, sorry: is this tote more on the structured side or does it flop onto itself when empty? My new Bayswater Tote (Just love it)
Thank you! Its new so its pretty stiff. But I have another Bayswater tote, a smaller version, and after how many years of carrying (maybe 5) it soft and floppy, but it still holds it shape when carried. So I assume, my new one soften up over time.Beautiful tote! Congrats. I'm a Mulberry noob, sorry: is this tote more on the structured side or does it flop onto itself when empty?
Thanks! I know it's not everyone's preference, but I actually think it looks really nice when bags soften up with use and become slouchy.Thank you! Its new so its pretty stiff. Hi all! Okay, I'm just now entering the luxury bag world (I don't own any yet!) and have my eye on the Mulberry Mini Zipped Bayswater. I'm hoping to use it as an everyday and weekend bag (errands, shopping, dinner, church, work, etc). I'm just looking for validation that it's a good bag for that? It's not too heavy or "work-looking"? Mulberry seems like a great first luxury purchase for the price and quality and I want to be able to bring her everywhere!
Thank you for your thoughts! Very helpful. I was looking at the mini size, which might be a bit lighter but could still see the same issues with that size. Definitely going to keep thinking and researching.I love my small zipped Bayswater, but it is quite heavy and in my opinion quite “work looking.” I generally only take it to work (where I only have to carry it from the car into the building) because, when full, it’s just heavy enough I don’t really want to have to lug it around everywhere. There is a small shoulder strap, but the main way I carry this bag is crook of arm (the strap is thin and I think it looks stupid carrying this type of bag on a long thin shoulder strap.) I wouldn’t want to carry this to more than one or two stores. Definitely not my idea of an all day bag (unless you, unlike me, don’t mind using the shoulder strap.)
For something like you’re describing, (errands, dinner, church, etc.) Mulberry has other great bags like the Lily that might work better.
Mini size is very suitable for your needs, it’s not heavy or bulky, it’s a lot smaller than the small size.Thank you for your thoughts! Very helpful. Oh great! Glad to hear that. I wish they had more color options on the US site right now, but thinking they might be coming soon for the summer season.Mini size is very suitable for your needs, it’s not heavy or bulky, it’s a lot smaller than the small size.
Hi, I bought a mini zipped Bayswater last year in dark blush colour and it's a great bag and very light! I use mine exactly in the way you're proposing to use yours - at the weekends for any kind of trip - for example to the hairdressers, supermarket, cinema, a trip to the museum/gallery - you name it this bag can go everywhere. What I also love is that it can be formal or informal depending on what you're wearing and for me the biggest pro is its capacity. It holds the type of essentials I must have with me with ease - keys, umbrella (I live in the UK and always need an umbrella), glasses or sunglasses, large size purse, travel card and after these there's loads of room for anything else - so a book or a bottle of water or a scarf etc would also easily fit inside. Love this bag, one of my favourites. Many a time I've had to stop myself from buying another, that's how much I like it.Oh great! Glad to hear that. A glowing review! I love the blush color but can't find it available anywhere right now. Totally understand the temptation to buy something you love in every available color/texture!Hi, I bought a mini zipped Bayswater last year in dark blush colour and it's a great bag and very light! Thanks so much for your thoughts! I'm definitely sold on it and can't wait to purchase! Sounds like a perfect fit for my needs and lifestyle. At this point I'm just holding out to see if any other colors become available as we head into the warmer months. I will post a pic when I get it!!Hi, Kris!
I own four Mulberry Mini Zipped Bayswaters (in black, oak, oxblood, and beige), and can attest to their versatility and durability. They are my indispensable daily use bags. I feel like the style is classic and definitely not too ‘business bag’ in appearance in the mini size, but also not ‘trendy’. It has minimal branding, which makes it even more appropriate for day to day. it The price point is right for a daily bag that you don’t mind exposing to wear and elements. I use them regularly in the same ways that you’ve described.
It’s the ideal size for day use. I don’t work outside the home so I’ve no need to carry tons of stuff like laptops, chargers, etc... The mini is as big as I need to go, and it truly fits your essentials with room to spare (could hold any size wallet, a make up pouch, sunglasses, even a compact umbrella!) without being monstrous on my 5’4” frame. I still keep my items compact and minimized because I like my bags as light as possible, but it’s always nice to know how much a bag can fit.
Another feature I love is the weight and the top handles. I have a shoulder issue and this bag is not too heavy for me. If my shoulder does get tired I can carry it top handle or the crook of arm. You can also carry it crossbody. I always thought my dream day bag would be a Chanel Jumbo double flap—until I tried on my friends and the weight of it was unbearable to me.
Have fun shopping for your new bag!! I’d love to see pictures once you make your choice.
