Hi I have a bayswater bought brand new from farfetch online about a year ago but I have not used it much . Took it out today from my cupboard and realise the hardware is like this now 😓 . Any remedy here for me ? Could I bring it back to a local mulberry store for repair ? I didn’t expect the hardware to be this bad

Appreciate any advice thanks in advance !

Was it brand new? If so, I’d write in to Mulberry with info on when you bought it etc and ask for advice/replacement. It really shouldn’t do that after such a short period.

Second this! Their customer service is fantastic. They should either replace the bag or repair the hardware for you. Just make sure you stress that you have only carried it a few times.

Did you leave the hardware stickers on or did you remove them? Sometimes hardware oxidises like this underneath stickers when they’re left on.

Hi yes it’s brand new and the stickers have been removed 😢

UPDATE -: I went to my local boutique and they said it will cost me about $400 to replace the lock. I bought in June 2023 so it’s out of the 1 year warranty 😢

I decided it’s not worth to replace it but no more mulberry bags for me 🥺

Contact Mulberry's customer service in your country! I have had experiences like this in store, but have been persistent with CS and they have agreed it was defective and done a complimentary repair. It's worth a try!

This is definitely not normal occurrence on a Mulberry bag. I have many Mulberry bags and this has never happened to me. I wonder if it has hand sanitizer on it or something else, or then it’s a some weird one-of-a-kind quality issue. You should definitely contact customer service.

It looks, to me, as though it's come into contact with something detrimental to the finish on the lock. It looks as thought it's been pressed against something, from the pattern of the marks?

That could be perhaps moisture under the sticker, or a substance with something in it, perhaps acidic? Guessing, but that's not normal at all for Mulberry. Their hardware is very robust.

Mulberry's Customer Service is very good.

Agree with most comments here, mulberry usually looks like new even preloved , never had an ancounter with hardware issues

Hello, as I am quite new here on the Forum, I am not sure if this was the topic before so someone might direct me better. I wonder about the experiences of older (pre-2019) models of Bayswater, I believe now called Bayswater Heritage, how do they compare to newer ones? I ask about the leather (durability, too), the space because they don’t estend on the side, and the design itself- do they look outdated to you?
TIA!

Thanks for all your comments ! Just to update,I have sent the bag to UK via my local store and they said they will review the hardware and let me know if they will replace free of charge .keeping my fingers crossed 🤞
