I noticed the black specs because I thought it was dirt… then noticed more and more. Maybe the Collectors Cage will have some insight.
Thank you for your reply 😊
I'm a bit puzzled by the specs too.. Found this, one of several positing black dots from iron during production.

Hi! Yes I’m concerned that it’s mold or holes that would get bigger because I paid a decent amount and have been through a few different years/yellows and haven’t found a decent condition first yet 😩
I looked at some other past sold 08’ Bouton d’or for reference but don’t see the same issue. I know the oldies aren’t perfect and I definitely expect handle wear and general wear but this black specs I’ve never seen on any aged bag…. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I can understand … yellows are hard to find in good condition … I sold my 2004 marigold bag a long time ago because the condition is not as good (even though leather was great) and the handles darken and look bad … and corner wears badly …haven’t seen black specs before… if u are not too happy with it or bothered by it probably best return and get a refund if possible :(

Hi there, I just received this bag and noticed tiny black specs in randomness. I tried to zoom to see if they are holes? But can’t tell what it is. have any of you an idea of what these tiny black specs could be? You might need to zoom in. This is a 2008 Yellow first. Please and thank you. I’m stumped.
Here's another Bouton d'or that has similar black spots:

(seller claims bag only use 1x though I'm a bit sceptical...) Regardless, could this have something to do with the color? I know yellow nail polishes generally have a dodgy formula- maybe this yellow dye is the same way?

Wow Muchstuff! Fantastic sleuth! But we knew that! ❤️

It’s the the oxidation of the dye imo. I had it n the City back in the day and same spots.

Hi everyone! So… I bought this beautiful 06 lilac, the listing mentioned these marks on the front but I had to see it in person… and I’m stumped. Anyone have an idea of what this might be? I’m scared to attempt to remove as it’s on the front and would be obvious if I F it up… otherwise the bag is chefs kiss 💋
@muchstuff maybe your resources skills could find something about this? 🤞🏻🤷🏻‍♀️

Looks like glue marks to me. I had a 2010 Bal with glue marks, there's not a lot you can do to remove old glue. Anything that would take it off will take off colour was well. If you search "glue marks" you'll find others commenting on them as well, it's not unknown.
