Seriously though, I'm not sure how you could tell if more than the lining is affected. Maybe open a seam and check the leather underneath? I guess you could clean the lining and see what happens? People have dunked Bal bags, I haven't personally though.
I have been able to pull the lining free and hand wash lining only. Not sure if this is possible with all styles. It’s what I would try before giving up on a beautiful, reasonably priced bag.

Hi there, I just received this bag and noticed tiny black specs in randomness. I tried to zoom to see if they are holes? But can’t tell what it is. have any of you an idea of what these tiny black specs could be? You might need to zoom in. This is a 2008 Yellow first. Please and thank you. I’m stumped.

They could be due to the leather or paint aging, Are you concerned about it?. Because oldies are not always perfect but still loved and admired. This is 08 Bouton d’or.
Hi! Yes I’m concerned that it’s mold or holes that would get bigger because I paid a decent amount and have been through a few different years/yellows and haven’t found a decent condition first yet 😩
I looked at some other past sold 08’ Bouton d’or for reference but don’t see the same issue. I know the oldies aren’t perfect and I definitely expect handle wear and general wear but this black specs I’ve never seen on any aged bag…. 🤷🏻♀️
I emailed the sellers, collectors cage to see what they say, I love this shade of yellow. The struggle is real 😆
These pics do nothing to make the brand more appealing. They actually have the opposite affect & make the brand seem kinda trashy
Not noticeable without magnification but I would not be comfortable either, not knowing the cause. Wouldn’t give it a seconds thought if I were sure they were benign and would not get worse.

I noticed the black specs because I thought it was dirt… then noticed more and more. Maybe the Collectors Cage will have some insight.
