You didn’t spend 100k to get your 1st quota bag, did u? You are wrong about me “anxiety to spend” when I started a journey h I already know that I had to spend and I spent 8k on my 1st time met my sa and of course I liked what I bought. I don’t think many people here would do, they would try to get to know the sa for a few time b4 they start spend big on it or they would spread small amount of their spend all out.
I told my sa about that someone said they got a quote bag after 3 months at this store and he said they lied to u, he also said he has been working here for a long time and no one got a bag after 3months he said at least 8months to a yr. Bottom line I don’t really care if I get a bag or not as I said earlier… I just share my experience at this store. I don’t know if there is a rule of how a client can get a bag for a sa to follow at this store or not.
I am sorry, but I don't think that the sa liked hearing that.

Are you absolutely, positively sure that you didnt come in and immediately ask about bags and/or wishlist? Because any store and any SA is going to abhor it. And Because I cannot imagine in the terrible hot summer Texas has had, you came into the store wanting a coat that arguably wont able to be used for months. And I agree with prior poster. Should never speak or compare your shopping experience with anyone else ESPECIALLY when it comes to bags.

I have also had a very positive experience in the Dallas store over the past 4+ years. There is one exception when it was not clear during part of Covid that appointments were required to pick up orders (I ordered a pair of shoes and was advised by my SA that they had arrived, but there was no mention of an appointment; when I arrived, my SA was not available and I was told by someone else that I could not pick up the shoes without an appointment; it was an inconvenience, but minor). I am working with a new SA this year as my previous one left to open a new store. Both of them have been lovely and happy to help me with whatever I've needed. I think the reality is that you can have a positive, negative, and even a neutral experience no matter the store you shop in. And that the process in each of the US stores varies with respect to available bags.

@corgimom11, agree. I got the same impression as per the quoted part of the initial post below, and I agree an SA might not want to talk about a wishlist immediately (on the same day as the initial purchase).

I would respectfully disagree with OP that all prospective clients come looking for a bag, but of course opinions differ
1st time I didn’t look for a coat but he brought out the coat ($6500) and asked me to try on with the sandal ($770) and I bought them both on 1st day from him and I asked him if we can talk about my wishlist
ETA: @lynn ph , I did reread your initial post, but I did not realize you felt pressured into buying the coat in the first place. Thank you for clarifying. My store is Madison, so I am used to SAs making a great many offers from different metiers. I am used to saying no lol. As a general rule, I think a good SA will eventually learn an individuals taste from what a client accepts or rejects. I have a great relationship with my SAs, but I think they would be a bit taken aback if I had brought up bags in the same appt as an initial meet and purchase. Of course, it may not have been your intention, but in general to do so so quickly might have the appearance of a quid pro quo. probably there are many members here who would disagree with me, so JMO

You didn’t read my previous post I didn’t come in asking for a coat or a bag.all sa knew people come here for a bag. Go back and read it b4 saying something non sense woman! Why not, just wanted to see if it is truth or people just not telling the truth. Anyway I don’t want to discuss about this anymore….
U are correct I should not get the coat when he offered it but it looked good on me when I tried on and I even said it is too hot now I cant wear it now and he mentioned the coat would not be still here long if I didn’t get it now. I guess I should rejected it. Anyway if u are interested this topic then go back read it from earlier post.

The Dallas store is amazing. In fact I moved to NYC and I will not switch stores.
@lynn ph I too asked about wishlist the first time I purchased and was asked to come in for a second visit. It took around 9-10 months to get my first offer and quite a bit of spend (not even close to 100k). My first offer was a K28 touch. Then this Feb I got my Constance and just today I picked up my B25. My spend since my first bag has been relaxed and enjoyable. My SA knows me so well she will be honest when I ask her if there is anything else I would like and she says no. I thought it would take a long time to get the B25 but it took 5 days after telling her I was ready for another bag and I think it’s because I stopped asking and concentrated on other items Hermes offers. I’m also a thinker, if it’s pricey I think about it for days to even weeks and go back to purchase, she never pushes me.
There is a new manager, I’ve met her, and she is lovely. That article does not apply to the Dallas store anymore.
I hope you get your bag sooner than I did, but in the meantime i hope you can enjoy some of your other purchases. I also bought a coat and I’m so excited to use it in the fall/winter!

Did You spend close to 100k and waited for 9-10 months before got offer a first bag? Was this spend (100k) included other leather good?

If one reads the post of @Fertmd101, it states clearly she did not spend anywhere close to 100K.
But, it took 9-10 months to get her first offer of a K28 touch.

in your post #494, it seems like you feel that 100K is necessary after the article you read, but subsequent posts from this boutique’s clients have assured you that this is not necessary

Everything around us has changed since 2020 so I definitely wouldn’t rely on an article from 2018 for ANYTHING shopping related.

Even if one go back to the beginning of this thread and see that exact article posted there were still a good amount of people saying that wasn’t their experience. As we know everyone’s experience will be different. Not just because of the SA and SM but the shopper as well.

Recent posts also show Dallas is a good store where people get good and offers shortly after a decent spend. At this point we are :btdh:

Congrats to everyone that’s had recent success!!

As @880 posted, I did not spend even close to 100k. I do not even have the ability to do that in one year. My spend was entirely non-leather.

Getting an offer takes patience and trust in your SA and both of those take time. But I understand, not knowing exactly how it works can be frustrating to say the least!

Agree, my friend told me, usually for new customers, 6 months of waiting for the 1st QB, then they will guarantee you 2 QB (may not be the actual size, color, or leather you want, but it’s ok to pass it)per year, if you show up consistently

Just give u an update since u asked:
I went to visit him yesterday. He brought out the Avalon blanket with him. I thought he brought it out for someone else , and I said let’s go though my wishlist. We went through it. After that he asked if I wanted the blanket. I said I just spent $8k last week and maybe next time. He is very straightforward, the way he said I know exactly what he meant that the more I pre-spent the better chance I will get a bag, this is business not much about the sa relationship as other people here said. He also said it will take at least 8months to a year, he said some of his clients that are still waiting for > year. Bottom line is there is no relationship here it is just if u pre spend more others u will win the bag. I just bought a nail polish this visit.
Again this is my experience and you can pass it if u don’t want to hear the truth. The SA

Let’s be real here.
The SA was shoving things on your face for you to buy. That’s a red flag for me. All those four items he showed you to buy came out of nowhere. You went to the store for shoes and a scarf for chrissake. Also dont be tempted with the “looks good on you” spiel.

I understand the pre-spend but at least spend on items you want. I wouldnt buy a $6k most especially in Texas… youll probably use it half a day five days a year as it gets humid/ hot mid-day. I wonder if they couldnt get anyone to buy that coat. Also that looks to be dressing “extra” in Texas unless thats what your style is of course.

I agree on here, dont set very high expectations— that will just frustrate you. Take one day at a time, or months or a year lol.

Browse online and on the resell market, research and screenshot the items you really want and need. Thats how i inform my SA what im looking for. It may or not be available online, in store or at another store. I personally refuse to buy anything that i dont like.
