This might be an unpopular opinion but if you are really this worked up after your first visit, either switch SAs or buy through a reseller. Shopping should be fun. Stop stressing about this and that and spending and offers. Just buy it if you like it. If not, spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
Yes mam… will do spend money somewhere for sure if I am not being treat good. I won’t die if I don’t a bk or k. It is just a bag. Just wanted to share my experience.

@lynn ph any updates from your visit?
Just give u an update since u asked:
I went to visit him yesterday. He brought out the Avalon blanket with him. I thought he brought it out for someone else :), and I said let’s go though my wishlist. We went through it. After that he asked if I wanted the blanket. I said I just spent $8k last week and maybe next time. He is very straightforward, the way he said I know exactly what he meant that the more I pre-spent the better chance I will get a bag, this is business not much about the sa relationship as other people here said. He also said it will take at least 8months to a year, he said some of his clients that are still waiting for > year. Bottom line is there is no relationship here it is just if u pre spend more others u will win the bag. I just bought a nail polish this visit.
Again this is my experience and you can pass it if u don’t want to hear the truth.

I’m sorry the appointment didn’t go as you had expected? Sadly, $8k barely moves the needle these days at Hermes. Sounds to me like he was being honest with you, trying to set your expectations more reasonably, and trying to help you get closer to your goal of a bag offer by offering an otherwise popular item for profile building. Hermes is definitely about both, spend and relationship (afterall, what is a sales “relationship” if not shopping?). Anyway, continue to spend through one SA regularly and once you get to a profile of, say, $25-30k and a yearish wait, I’m sure a bag offer will be forthcoming.

100% agree that a sales relationship is shopping with a chosen SA in a specific boutique. I advise members here that if they do not want to wait, a reseller is faster. If one does not love and want to purchase items across different metiers, resale may actually be less costly.

I do hope you stick with it and try to build a relationship in Dallas, it really is a lovely store. I can absolutely attest that both spend and relationships matter. I’ve been a customer for quite some time—some months/years I spend more, some less. Some lots less. Yet I love going in and shopping with my SA when I find things I love and somehow the bags I want always find me. It’s almost as if when you forget about the bag and enjoy yourself the bag will come.
Do try to enjoy and just see what happens! H is fun!

Ofcouse I still keep going with my h journey. Before I started the journey I already expected this. Don’t give me wrong my sa is a nice guy. Of course he should be because I am his new client and I treated him nice too. I really do like all stuffs from h. Wish I can have $$$ to spend 8k every week or everyday so this way everybody (me and him)is happy.

This article may help you understand the Dallas store. I have not shopped at the Dallas store since pre-pandemic, so my info is a bit old. Your story, though, sounds very typical. Now, ladies, please, do not come at me. Full disclosure. I have shopped at both Houston and Dallas for years [think 80s]. Without a doubt, the manager makes the difference. Houston’s manager has always been exceptional. Dallas, meh. This article explains the drama. My guess is some of the sales reps who were managed by Martha are still there. For all I know, she may have worked her way back in. Idk. When I have a choice, Houston is my preferred shop. That is all I will say.

After Read this article now I am so doubt that I can get a bag even though I spent 100k or more and still have to wait for many years …. Thanks for sharing it. It is good to know.

That article doesn't really reflect how the Dallas store is run these days. And that shouldn't come as a surprise given what happened and H's response to it.

It seems like the prospect of getting a quota bag, and the amount of prespend, is causing a significant amount of anxiety. I think I'd just slow down and not worry so much about it. It seems like your SA and you had a frank conversation about quota bags on only your second meeting. I think a lot of folks who are subject to more of a black box process would be thrilled to receive that sort of transparency.

Just to reassure you a little, I started at the Dallas store at the beginning of 2022 and I can't speak any more positively about my experience. I received a B30 after three months with 1:1 spend. I placed a SO at the end of 2022. I received a Constance at the beginning of this year and last month I got a MK. Along the way, I've bought plenty of other bags and wallets. Under no circumstances are you going to be required to spend $100k to get a bag. But if you're not looking forward to playing the game, I'd suggest just buying from a reseller and get what you want.

You didn’t spend 100k to get your 1st quota bag, did u? You are wrong about me “anxiety to spend” when I started a journey h I already know that I had to spend and I spent 8k on my 1st time met my sa and of course I liked what I bought. I don’t think many people here would do, they would try to get to know the sa for a few time b4 they start spend big on it or they would spread small amount of their spend all out.
I told my sa about that someone said they got a quote bag after 3 months at this store and he said they lied to u, he also said he has been working here for a long time and no one got a bag after 3months he said at least 8months to a yr. Bottom line I don’t really care if I get a bag or not as I said earlier… I just share my experience at this store. I don’t know if there is a rule of how a client can get a bag for a sa to follow at this store or not.
