So I have been building a relationship with my SA at the Houston location for a couple months now. I’ve only shopped with her twice. One being yesterday. When I walked in for my appointment she had several big bags in dust bags in her hand that she took to the back room but they were definitely hand bags I saw a handle lol. I didn’t ask what they were. I felt like she was waiting for me to say something tho.

When she came back I told her I only wanted a couple things and I would make it quick. At the end when I was paying she said I know I’ve been texting you but email me your wishlist and I will see what I can get for you. I emailed her that I want a K, Picotin and Evelyn. She emailed me saying great I will “flag” (not sure what that means?) the k and let you know. She text me hours later asking me a ton of questions about the Picotin and Evelyn’s that I wanted. I’m feeling like something may happen lol.

All in all I have only bought things that I like. I’m liking our relationship (she even talks about her family and I told her about mine), and she’s seemingly really interested in helping me get *something*. I also like that she recognized me when I walked in (I had only seen her once before).I’m ok with whatever the process is or however long it takes but I’m glad I finally got started as I had but putting it off. Chanel has left a bad taste in my mouth so that was the push that I needed.
You are off to a great start. I've always thought the service in Hermes (at the Houston location) has been stellar. Way better than Chanel. Even when my SA is busy, they've always been kind. I think as long as you are down to earth and authentic, they'll be responsive. Good luck to you!!

Thank you so much! So far so good. I’m pretty good at relationship building and people so I should be fine lol. I was intimidated for nothing.

How's the stocks on display? Looking forward to your future reveal.
No bags on display. The shoe and belt selection was low. Silks weren't a plenty. Tons of bracelets and watches for all. RTW had some spring and fall on display. I forgot to look for small slgs.

Thanks! I’m leaning towards being offered a Picotin or Evelyne before a K but fingers crossed!

I’ve been reading newbie threads and am really, really trying not to get caught up in spend and all of the other stuff. However, my SA mentioned me getting an Apple Watch, which I currently own and use a later model. I’d actually prefer a Heure over the apple. Do you all think I should take her suggestions as a hint and get one? Or just keep on doing what I’ve been doing and staying in contact and shop when I truly want something? I don’t *need* an Apple Watch but I would use it and only get a color that I like. For those of you that’s shopped at Houston, what are your thoughts?

Don't buy anything you don't truly want. I can't stress that enough. I know everyone's "journey" (hate that word) is different, but from my experience, I only buy things I love and will use. When I first started shopping at Hermes, I was only interested in getting a pair of Oran sandals and got hooked on Hermes shoes. I wasn't remotely interested in a Birkin or Kelly and my SA knew that. I've never even had a wish list. When my SA offered me my first B30, it was completely out of the blue. I was at Hermes to pick up some shoes. He literally said, "Girl, just take a look at it." Of course, I fell in love. (Although, I initially turned it down, because it was palladium hardware). I think I get offered bags, because I never ask him about bags. In fact, my SA asks ME what I like or what he should look out for, i.e. colors and whether I would consider a Kelly. Uh...yeah. Lol. But, I'm not pressed for one. If it happens, it happens. I have enjoyed my Hermes experience in Houston, probably because my SA is a doll. He's told me that the SAs get tired of people coming in asking about pre-spend, what should they buy to get a quota bag, etc. Good luck! It'll happen for you. Just be patient.

Yes, this is typically my approach with anything I buy. I try to steer clear of the things I read on social media about “how-to” because I like to move organically. However, being told “read this” or “start here” tend to cloud my judgement lol. I will stick with my original plan and just as I normally do. I’m not pressed either and have tons of patience. I definitely have not asked my SA about prespend or even wishlists, she asked me. Heck I’ve gone this long without Hermes what’s another year or so
Thanks for the reassurance! I will stay away from the newbie threads. They get too intense for my liking anyway

Was in Dallas boutique Friday morning - it was busy! (Was anyone else there at the same time??? I always want to ask fellow shoppers if they are tPFers)

there was one adorable chocolate brown wool Picotin 18, a marble fringe muffler, some cute new wood bangles.

Parking will be even more of a nightmare for quite some time as there is major construction in the already-tight parking lot. The construction hole is quite deep - does anyone know what they are working on?

I try to avoid HPV for shopping on Fridays and Saturdays. Last few times I made it to the store, I went in on Monday and it was a great experience. Just walked in, the store was quiet and SA were very attentive.

Ah, that is super helpful. Thanks for the detailed reply. Sounds like 2:1 is probably the place to be, but like you said, there's probably not a magic formula here. I'm around 1.5:1 after three months or so, so I can probably hit 2:1 in the next month or two but I'm having the same issue as you are. Stock is low, so there's just not a ton to spend my money on. I do end up buying a lot of stuff that they ship from another store.

Also, go Mavs!!

Well my prior SA retired May 2021 right after my first offer and I spent 1:1 with another SA who acted like it was the first time we met every time we met and we just never talked. I ended up really clicking with another SA incidentally and switched over to him in Feb of this year. I think I spent only 1:1 with this SA but never mentioned a bag or preferences, I just thoroughly enjoy shopping with him so I was really surprised he offered me a b30 touch out of nowhere for my second offer recently.

He did say the store manager left recently so that may change some things up in terms of allocation of bags.

I usually go Saturdays right at 10am when they open and always find parking. After 10:30 that’s when the crowd starts coming in and it gets more hectic.

I was there on a Monday morning and it was busy by 11am. I thought that would be the perfect time to shop with less crowd. Nope!
I thought Hermes looked empty. There was very little RTW, which was what I was interested in.

My husband talked with a worker and he said they are redoing the parking lot and underground utilities. Underground utilities are awesome. We have that in my neighborhood. It sounds like there is talk of a possible 2nd floor being added where Dior and Hermes are. I hope they can figure a way to add more parking. There is not enough even with that other one across the street. We were trying to figure out how to get into La Cocina for lunch. I was impressed that we could not hear the construction once inside considering it was right there.

Any tips for the Dallas store? It’s my closest store (I’m 5 hours away ) and I want to browse and maybe get some sandals if available but everything I’ve purchased has been online so I don’t have a relationship with a SA to ask.

Do I need an apt on a Friday or Saturday? Unfortunately the only days I can go.

Hi!

Nope you do not need an appointment to go on the store. If it is busy there will either be a line or you will wait inside until a SA frees up. Once you meet a SA you like/connect with you can make appointments directly with them.

I was in Highland Park Village last night and they parking lot construction has expanded so honestly parking is going to be a complete nightmare.

Stock is kind of low so if you like a pair of sandals (or anything else) they may need to order it for you in the store.
