I have one on my hip that NO ONE knows is there...unless I pull down my pants and that never happens, for strangers anyway!!!. I would love an invisible one...so much...in memory of my father...however....it could not be seen...its personal for me...I also do not like the reputation for tatoos...I could not show up at a board meeting with tatoos showing...no way.

ITA! I have 4 but the only visible one is on my ankle but it's on my inner right ankle so it's not noticeable anyway. Good thing my work place doesn't mind tattoos!

I also have a white outline of a lotus on my left wrist. I wear a watch with thick straps so it's covered. Even if it's not, no one's ever asked me about it...AT ALL!! I love it!

I'm thinking of getting one more but can't decide where. It will be my final one, I think.

I've been visiting Vanishing Tattoos since 2001 for inspiration after I found out that SMG has a few!

does anyone has a UV tattoo? aka the invisible or glows in the dark tat?
i wanted one soooo bad, but don't know who actually has it, and the outcome of the ink. this would be awesome for ppl like me who can't show their tat @work

Singer Rihanna isn't afraid to go under the needle: she revealed that she likes to hang out in tattoo parlors after she was spotted at a Hollywood tattoo hotspot in January. Rihanna recently pulled an over-the-shoulder pose at a birthday party in New York to reveal a new set of stars. The Barbadian beauty has already shown her love for body art with four tattoos: a Pisces sign behind her right ear, a star in her left ear, a music note on her ankle and a Sanskrit prayer down her hip.

Pop singer Ashlee Simpson's parents were hoping she would kick her ink craze after getting "LOVE" tattooed on her ankle to celebrate her second album in 2005. The singer, whose first tattoo was a star, told People magazine that her parents were begging her not to get any more tattoos. However, the pop rocker debuted a new rose on her left arm in March, while promoting her third album, "Bittersweet World."

Hollywood hunk Ryan Phillipe flexed his arm, and new ink, while leaving a West Hollywood gym in March. At first glance it looked like a piece of a bald eagle, which would make sense considering the actor's soldier character in his latest war flick, "Stop-Loss." However, upon closer inspection the tat appears to be a phoenix rising from the ashes.

Few knew the face behind the name Diablo Cody when the edgy screenwriter walked down the Oscar red carpet in a leopard-print gown. But after Cody won the Academy Award for best original screenplay, the former stripper's picture was plastered on papers and magazines across the country. With her thigh-high split and prominent pinup tattoo, Cody, whose real name is Brook Busey-Hunt, was an unconventionally hip Oscar winner. The New York Post ran a picture of Cody on its cover under the headline: "Tat Girl." It also revealed that the roses weren't always there. It used to read Jonny's Girl, for ex-husband Jonny Hunt, but Cody had the words covered when the pair divorced.

I don't really care for Jenna Jameson but I love the tattoo she has on her back that Kat Von D did...it is a tribute to Joan of Arc and it says "I am not afraid I was born to do this"

This was the only pic I could find of it...

Musician John Mayer added to his rock star look with some more ink and debuted a full-sleeve tattoo in April. The cut crooner, who is often snapped working out, reportedly had the body art done in Tokyo, Japan. He has yet to unveil the entire arm and just gave photographers a peak beyond his white T-shirt as he was leaving a gym in New York.

While most parents are trying to keep their kids away from tattoo parlors, 61-year-old actress Susan Sarandon is showing off her body art, which includes her kids' initials on her back. Sarandon revealed a little ink on her back at the "Speedracer" premiere, where she also said that she's saving the next tattoo for when she's 70 or 80.

I'm not a big fan of the flower Ashlee Simpson got on her wrist but each to their own.
I've got a red rose on my mid lower back just below where my jeans sit so it's really only noticeable when I'm wearing my bikinis or when I'm not wearing much at all. Which is what I wanted. It has personal meaning to me and my DH so I didn't want to get it in a place that everyone else could see. I've also got 2 butterflies on my lower back not far from the rose. I've been seriously thinking about getting a dove on my left wrist but have been scared to go ahead with it after my friend got a tattoo there recently that isn't what she wanted and now she has to look at it all day, every day, and it'll be excrutiating to remove. I'm still deciding.

I'm glad people are enjoying this thread.

I love my tattoos and I love other people's. I love hearing the significance - why they got a particular picture/design. It feels like we're all in this club and our tattoos are our membership badges.
