It depends on the condition. But if the bag is in good condition, then I would say $600 is a fair price. Épi leather is virtually indestructible.May I know is it worth to buy this vintage LV at usd600?

I have the trousse 28, how did you polish the zipper?? Mine looks like your first pictureMy Vintage Louis Vuitton Trousse 23 Cosmetic Pouch, MIF April 1985!!! First pic with dull tarnished zipper is before , other two pics are after.
I love purchasing vintage and discontinued styles, and restoring/cleaning them up. Recently purchased this Trousse 23 from Malleries, hard to believe she's 30 years old and in great condition! I wiped inside and out with warm soapy water, used

sanitizer inside and out; conditioned outside with Cadillac Cleaner and Conditioner, and cleaned the dull tarnished zipper with Blue Metal Magic Cleaner, stuffed the inside with dryer sheets which removed the "old smell." Now she's like new!!!
Thanks for clarifying that; good to know.Actually, for certain repairs, Louis Vuitton will change the date code in the bag. One obvious example is when the date code stamp is part of what is being replaced. There have been several cases on TPF over the years.
Indestructible? I thought its difficult to care for epi? Is a 1998 epi considered vintage? It depends on the condition. But if the bag is in good condition, then I would say $600 is a fair price. Épi leather is virtually indestructible.

When the code says SA 834 is that from 1983 or 1984?
Can I ask what the cost of the new zipper was? I have an older speedy like this and need the same done.
Wow...that's great. I have an old French Company bag that is similar to a speedy but taller. My mom got it at Saks and she was hard on it.I needed an entire new zipper minus the pull replaced on a 1980s French Company Speedy 30. The pull was still intact. LV removed the original pull, took out the old zipper, replaced the old zipper with an original zipper held in archives (not many left if any, so go soon), and then put the original pull back onto the new zipper. Cost was $90.00. Took about 4 weeks.
