Hi,

I know this forum is old but I'm wondering if anyone experienced this as well, inside of the handle is cracking, is this normal?
I also have a problem with the handle peeling...

:nogood: trying to find a place to send for repair in nyc area.
the stitching that reinforces where the strap is connected also came loose so that now it pulls on lining when i use the long strap. i had sent it to prada for repair within the first few months of getting the bag, which took forever. they only fixed the side that came loose so now the other side also came loose since they didn't think to reinforce both of them.

Hi everyone! I have a Prada wallet that I got secondhand and it's in pretty rough shape... I would love to get your opinions on (a) whether or not it's worth trying to get it fixed up based on its current condition, and (b) if I did want to try to get it repaired, any info or recommendations on how/where I could get that done. I'm attaching some photos... I know it's beat-up, but I hate the idea of having to just throw out a Prada wallet!

Also - if any of you happen to have any information on this particular item - when it came out, photos of one in better condition, basically anything - I'd really appreciate it if you wouldn't mind sharing your knowledge!

Thank you so much!

If you mean the gold finish, you'll have to live with that. Prada never could get the metallic finishes to last more than 5 seconds except on the lambskin bags they made 9-10 years ago. The actual construction of the wallet looks fine to me. What am I missing?

So my wallet got drench when my daughter put an uncapped mineral water bottle in my tote :shucks: less than 30 mins ago.
It left this rippling effect on the leather. Does anyone know if the leather will return to its normal shape once it dries completely?
It's still damp-ish. i've only just towel dry it and letting it dry by its own. can i blow dry it?
Did you find a fix for this? I was in the exact same situation and now it's dry but still rippled on the coin pocket

OK… so, I found the most amazing Camello Lambskin Gaufre on ebay.

I got this bag for what is in my opinion, the deal of the century.
:yahoo:
If I would not have bid on this bag, it would have sold for a price that would have made me cry for weeks, I just could not allow that…. :p

well, of course it is a used bag… and is a bit discolored.

What do you think of this and can it be fixed?

or, do you think it adds character to the bag?

I frankly wouldn't worry with it. That's a color that's prone to color transfer, as most lighter leathers would be. Besides, this way you can just enjoy it and not get caught up with babying it as most of us tend to do with new bags. It's already been road tested, so enjoy!

PS: I'm jealous. I've sold all my gaufre bags over the past 7 years and miss them horribly. ;)

Thank you… I LOVE the Gaufre bags, and this one has pockets on the
outside, which I LOVE and it is HUGE…. :yahoo:

I have the Domed Bowler Gaufre bag in dark brown lambskin,
but, I wear mostly black, so this color will fit better….
and also will be perfect for summer..

yeah, That is pretty much what I was thinking, that I wouldn't have to worry as much about it, and it just looks LOVED…
it has character…

Luckily, I don't wear new denim or many things that
tend to color transfer to leather…. :graucho:

You know, every time I say NO MORE Prada, I find one I can't live without… :D

My Prada Saffiano handles are sticky (underneath). The rest of the bag is fine and I have not spilt anything on it.

I am not sure what has caused this but I used a face wipe to clean it but it didn't work and is still sticky.

I used a cloth with cold water also to wipe the handles but it still feels sticky.

What should I do?

Thanks.

This is a common issue. The dirt accumulates from from our hands, lotion or general use. This is why people may wrap silk scarves on the handles, to preserve it. Every month or so when my Prada Saffiano is in rotation, I do a overall wipe down and concentrate under the handles with a alcohol and fragrance free baby wipe. This won't get rid of the stickiness completely, but it makes it better. After you wipe it down, you can wrap a silk scarf around the handles if it really bothers you.

Hi ladies, I have a repair question for those residing in Singapore.

I have an old Prada nylon wallet. It is probably about 20-years old. It is my very first designer wallet that I received in my teens and so I am keeping it for sentimental reasons.

Because of the decades of unuse and storage, the wallet looks as though it has shrunk. It has all this wrinkling. The logo is also loose and shifting around a bit.

I brought the wallet into the Ion Orchard boutique and the SA suggested taking it to an external repair store where it would get fixed faster and the glue used would be the same as what Prada would use.

Do any of you know of a good reputable place I can take my Prada wallet to to get the logo reglued? I am so afraid that if I take it to the wrong place, they might muck up the logo's placement permanently! Yikes!!!!

Thanks in advance!!! :)
