hey I don't know what you should carry, but KUDOS to those who carry their lunch--

its smart financially :)

I used to be terrible; I was just ordering at restaurants most of the time for lunch and weekends. For several months now, I've not only been bringing my lunch to work about 80% of the time, but I've also cut out most of my normal restaurant food expenditures on the weekends. I got a very fat pay raise recently, but that has not deterred me; I still just feel like sticking to my new habit!

For food I never use a nice bag because food can leak into the bag and ruin it but even if it does not it will stink up the bag. I use a nice purse every day to the office but food or drinks are always carried in a separate bag which is usually a nicer paperbag that I get from department stores, etc. I toss that when it is ruined. I also carry a book or magazines in that separate paperbag so that I do not weigh down my purse. This works for me, very practical and my nice bags last longer this way; they do not lose shape from too much weight or get stained. Also no pens ever in my purse. I have had pens leak into a purse before and ruin them and also I had weighed down bags to the point that they broke.

I take my lunch to work mon-thur and I use a retro metal Smurfette ( The Smurfs) lunch box. I get tons of compliments and no one can say that they took my lunch by mistake.

Sometimes because its much better than the food we get given. However I dont put it in a bag, I drive to work and the box sits on my passenger seat and gets put in the fridge as soon as I get in..

Definately use something easy to clean but not so special you would be gutted if it got wrecked.
