So everything I bought almost goes all together.

But am I doing it right in regards to pattern proportion and pattern mixing?

Hi bakeacookie!

Congratulations, great additions!
I love red, since everyone around me tends to choose grey, black and navy. hehe.

I love the shirt and the skirt each on its own, just not together.
I see 2 reasons, why they don't add up (in my eyes!): the patterns and the fabric.
Of course, this is all my personal view. Other might see it 100% different.

The skirt would look lovely with a uni-coloured top – white is my favourite colour, combined with a black cardigan. Since the cherries are anything but conservative, the classic black/white combination would compliment the skirt in a nice way.

The same goes for the top: I always combine Marinière shirts with monochrome skirts/trousers. Jeans (any style - skinny, bell bottom, they all work) and the Ferragamo pumps would look very chic.

Thanks! That seems to be the general consensus, that these are too much together.

And that's ok! That's why I asked! [emoji4]

I'll try again with these two, just separately next time.

But I think these were great buys for me, I find them comfy and easy to wear, even if not together.

Thank you for the suggestions!!

Sadly I had to return the Ferragamos. They were too big!

I wanted a different pair but the SA assisting me was rude so I didn't pursue another size.

Now I'm eyeing some Chanel flats. Haha. Oh dear.

I could just not add another pair of shoes...the Bally ones are just fine.

I've been working on wearing my scarves because it's finally cold enough! Gotta take advantage of this time period!

So here's two outfits! More to come with my modest scarf collection.

I feel I should wear this Chanel scarf with anything but a white top because it feels so uniformy

However, I love this combo. Two bags because I went to an LV party after work.

More outfits. I seriously am going to try to update more. I need to rethink my skirt situation because I am so tired of them!

Lesson learned: capsule wardrobes aren't me!

The lines on the top and skirt are perpendicular. Does that matter?
Was going for a red, white, and blue look lol.
J crew x Saint James top
Uniqlo skirt
Ferragamo shoes
Omega watch
LV Alma PM

Pinks and greys
Ann Taylor top
Uniqlo skirt
LV & Kate Spade bracelets
Ferragamo flats, but they are silver and pink, I just never updated the picture after I redyed them.

Also redying good shoes that got dirty was a great idea! I'll probably keep them another year because I did that.

Crazy pattern mixing. I basically wanted to break in the Ballys haha.
Burberry tee
Zara skirt
Bally flats (sooo hard to break in! So cute!)
LV speedy

And I've been wearing my current favorite jacket & brooch combo, which is another topic in the next post.

ETA: so I love the comfort of midi skirts. But I'm also tired of 4 of the 5 I have so I'm thinking of picking a style more versatile. Should I go for a solid, no pleated, no pattern skirt? Ditch skirts and go for midi dresses?

What should I do?

I've been wearing this jacket and brooch combo for at least a month.

So glad I didn't not sell the jacket as originally planned.

Will my other Chanel brooch go with this jacket, or does it hide in the jacket's tweed pattern? The brooch is black, but it looks a bit grey in certain light.

What do you think?
I think both brooches look nice, depending what you wear underneath.
