Store purchase question

I had an awful experience at the nyc store, I was told an Sa will text me when they're available. Got the text but no one came over so I was awkwardly standing around for a bit.
Finally the Sa came over and I'm not sure if she didn't know how to put on the bracelets onto me or if she was impatient but she jammed each of the bracelets on and I ended up with red marks and in pain.
Totally turned me off Cartier.
Op I'm sorry you had a bad experience, I hope someone else there can make it right for you because I feel that part of the joy is removed with bad service. It leaves a bad taste with the item & makes me reluctant to use it.

I know the experience wasn't what you were expecting or hoping for but hopefully you can enjoy your new bracelets.
I think sometimes this is why it's good to establish a relationship with an SA ~ this way you always get a great experience! I realize that's not always possible though as not everyone lives near a boutique.
In any case congrats on your new beautiful bracelets!

A lot of stores have no travel pouches and no cleaning kits. While my SA has gifted me travel pouches for all my purchases I still haven't received a cleaning kit. They're not always available or given with purchases no matter how much you spend.

All my items have been pristine upon opening, I wouldn't stress about it as it's not typical to receive a less than perfect item from Cartier.
I agree. I personally do not care about the extras like the cleaning kit or travel pouch. To me, it's a waste of space in my storage and frankly a bit obnoxious to ask for one. If I want an item to be cleaned, I'll ask my items to go through the ultrasonic cleaner whenever I get a chance to go to boutique and buy a new item.

I was in a YSL boutique once and heard a lady quite loudly ask why she wasn't being offered champagne while she shopped for a bag. It definitely made me realize we all have a lot different boutique expectations.
My last time in Cartier I just bought a ring and wore it out. No box, no bag, no receipt..nothing
Same. For my last purchase, I got it with no box only a small dust bag because I had lost a Cartier ring & had a spare box.

another tine, I did get a cleaning kit without asking and the SA had not even mentioned it to me up until I got to my car.

I waited to purchase my bracelets in store and shopped at the AVentura Mall Cartier. I had a really crappy experience and I’m so mad about it. It ruined the experience completely for me. I asked for the travel pouch with pillow and he never even told me he didn’t have them and gave me some huge funky travel case. So I went back and another guy says they will ship it to me supposedly when they get them but I don’t believe it. Would the customer service help if I called and asked for them? I purchased 2 bracelets in store and I’m irritated.

My other big question is this.

Is it normal that they pull out bracelets from a drawer that seemed like they were display purpose bracelets? How do I know it’s new? I think he lied to me and I’m so upset about the whole thing. He just magically pulled out 2 bracelets and I’m wondering if those are used for sizing purposes only and are put back if someone doesn’t buy. For spending over $12K in a store, I’d expect to be sure it’s brand new and never put on anyone else. I had them wrap my items and haven’t worn them out of the store. Do I open it here and inspect them before leaving for home tomorrow?

I purchased a Love ring in AZ 2 years ago and had the best experience ever and the lady was amazing. I hoped to ask questions and just couldn’t. The guy couldn’t wait to get rid of me.
I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I'm also surprised that the SA would be in a rush at that location. In my experience Aventura Mall is not very busy on weekdays, especially early in the week. Not sure what the problem was. Did you schedule an appointment?

I would go back before you leave town if you have any reservations about your purchases. Customer Service won't be able to help you, they will tell you to contact the SA.

I was not impressed with that location.

I get it but I don’t have a boutique in my state so it makes it really hard to get anything cleaned and I went 3 years without a cleaning kit with my first love ring and once I bought a new smaller sized one from a store in AZ and got it cleaned, it was like night and day. i wish we had a boutique in my state.

I didn’t go back Because we didn’t have time with the kids but it’s good to know someone else had a bad experience and it wasn’t only me. It wasn’t busy in there where anyone was going crazy or anything. There were a few customers but nothing crazy.

Ugh this sucks Customer service won’t help. I need to find a good SA at that location to try to get the correct pouch for my bracelets.

What does the travel case look like? I'd take that over the pouch.

Chiming in to say hope you’ll be able to find a good closure; it deserves a happy ending.

But mainly here to say yay now 17 looks perrrrfect on you!
Thanks! No closure since I didn’t go back unfortunately but I will be hounding that store for the correct pouches lol. I’m super OCD and I use those more than the regular case. I don’t store my ring in the box. I store it in the pouch always so those are important for me. That’s why I specifically asked for them in detail knowing what I’d need.

I'm sorry you are upset. It sounds like you may have gotten an upgrade on the travel pouch. Maybe they were out? I've heard it happens. It sounds like maybe you got a nice gift (even if it wasn't what you wanted).

As for the bracelets - yes, they pull them on from behind the counter. That's been my experience. I'm not sure you can expect that no one has 'tried it on.' That sounds a bit excessive in my opinion. My love had a scratch at the screw. I decided this was a good thing as I didn't put the first scratch in it.
See that’s not okay in my book. You pay the price for a brand new item and it’s ridiculous they would sell it that way. It should absolutely not be scratched especially since Cartier is so strict about not accepting returns if an item is scratched but they will turn around and sell it with a scratch.

The bracelets both look great to me and I see the plastic baggies in the pic you posted. I guess it's upsetting that you didn't get the customer service you expected. If I didn't think an SA was worth my purchase I probably would have left and purchased online *shrug*

Honestly, I wanted them so bad but it felt really rushed. In hindsight, I should have left and just ordered online and waited a few days after finding out my size. Lol. I had purchased the size 16 initially and it was the wrong size and could have just exchanged it. Customer service was extremely helpful and kind. I had a better experience with my returned order than I did in store lol. But now I know better.

Wow, sounds like you had a horrible experience. I'm sorry to hear that. Even though all my Cartier purchases have been online (we don't have a Cartier boutique here in Colorado), I've always received items in pristine condition. Never a problem. However, if I ever did go into a Cartier in person, I would expect the same excellent service whether you spend $1,000 or $12,000...so that really bothers me that your experience was less than average. If it was me, I'd complain, but that's what I'd do. Not sure if you're comfortable with that, but I'd be really upset, especially considering the amount of money you spent. Hope it works out well for you in the end. Your bracelets look like they're in excellent condition.
Yes exactly this! Ugh it’s frustrating. I was spoiled by the lady I met 2 years ago in AZ and thought all SA’s would be kind that way. Boy was I wrong ring.

...Well, technically that is a pouch :P .

Though I understand about getting the appropriate travel pouch for your bracelet and it's understandable that it was unexpected and caught you off guard.
I hope that you get the right pouch, but I also hope that you don't stress yourself out over this out to the extent that it makes the situation even more unpleasant.

It probably depends on the location and SA and how busy they are.

I basically never ask for anything when I shop (YSL, Cartier, any store). It's always an offer that I either thankfully accept or politely decline. (I am no big spender either).
I think the only time I asked for snacks was when my Burberry SA brought out champagne and I hadn't eaten anything that day so I didn't want to consume alcohol on an empty stomach.
However, I am very close with my SA's. As in, I have developed a good relationship with them. I don't shop anywhere in the world except from my SA's at basically one location. (perhaps an exception may be a limited or special edition collection). I only go to my SA's, even when there is someone subbing in for them, I do not mind waiting. And if they reserve something for me on a day that they are not available, I make sure that they get the commission they deserve. So, I can only guess they appreciate my business and are more likely to treat me.

In my Cartier location they may be particularly generous (or maybe in a good mood, who knows lol). I get travel pouches when I do a cleaning without asking. I also got one when I had my watch band sized down for the extra links.
However, I am not a user of travel pouches, not a fan of extra stuff either. So I suppose it doesn't bother me if I don't get it because it doesn't matter to me as much.

I highly recommend Dayle's Addiction video on the luxury buying experience - she has some contacts from current/ former SAs that share how the budget is allocated towards each client in terms of offering champagne, etc...

IS THE LUXURY EXPERIENCE DEAD? THE SALES ASSOCIATES SPILL THE SECRETS!

For me, will be lovely to have travel pouch (though I don’t mind THAT long pouch lol) and cleaning kit because to me thats the most practical in relation to the jewelry. Please don’t offer me champagne nor chocolate because I just don’t consume them. I don’t drink and I’m very particular about choc :p

My new SA has been quite lovely. She is attentive, professional and at the same time she keeps really quiet, giving me the space when I’m trying the pieces. I feel she is leaving to customer to make our own judgement. And she only gives her opinion when asked. That, is my kind of SA.

I’m seeing her this weekend to try out several pieces. 18April is coming. Told myself I’ll just be getting one item (I’ve not made up my mind which yet) and enjoy what I own and will be owning. Price increase is gonna stay forever. I shall peace out after this last one!

Store expectation is all so different for everyone. I think it’s really unfortunate that OP landed in a busy store (for mine here, it’s hardly filled - I try to go during off peak- so the experience thus is different). I’ve had visited another Cartier store before and I was literally left being zero-attended for 20mins, till I left. The guy at the door was so sorry, but there was nothing much he could do. But it was quite busy then to begin with. It was frustrating and left a bad taste (I was seriously ready to spend!). I hope OP would have a better experience the next time.

I get it. We don’t have a lot at home but I love my SA and he treats me well too. I purchase everything through him but he hasn’t been able to get the bag I picked up while in FL so I went for it only for that reason. I do have guilt over it but it’s 1 bag.

I wish we had a Cartier boutique at home but we don’t.

I do travel 2-3 times a month for work so I’d like to have the correct pouches mainly to be covered in case I take them off for any reason. I use my ring pouch non stop and love it! I can care less about the big ole case. The pouch is what I prefer. That’s why I was more annoyed. I found the SA’s card so I’ll contact him in a week or two.

Hey! I'm curious which NYC store did you go to? I went to the Cartier store at Hudson Yards a few years ago just to try things out and the SA was really nice to help me try on for size for possible future purchase. Didn't feel pressured or anything because I wasn't buying -- which I really appreciate. Had the opposite experience at VCA right across the way though.
